My friend and I stayed at the St James for one night on 31st August, the night the Illuminations were turned on. The hotel is right on the Promenade on the North Shore and was easy to find. We were lucky enough to have a car parking spot held for us which was very much appreciated. The hotel is clean and comfortable and has a friendly feel to it. As with many rooms in the UK, ours was quite small but clean, as was the bathroom and the beds were comfortable. We had the evening meal and breakfast at the hotel and both were quite good - the waiter was great! Very friendly with a smile for everyone. There is a lift at the St James (the smallest lift I have ever seen!!) which is a big plus when you're not used to going up and down stairs all the time :) A great place for middle aged and older folk - I dont think its the sort of place to stay if you want to party into the small hours! Yes, I would stay here again.

stayed here for a wedding at metropole ,and could not fault it, rooms spotless, warm welcome by owners ,breakfast great loads of choice you would have to look hard to top this hotel considering the gripps of other guests at the wedding we attended as most other people were not happy at poor condition of rooms ,service at other hotels they were staying in

We stayed here for one night on 14th July 2012 just by chance as had driven to Blackpool hoping to find somewhere to stay when we got there. The front of the place looked nice (as loads of places looked scruffy & run down) so we asked if they had a room and luckily they'd had a cancellation so we got a sea view double room which was lovely. Rooms and bedding very clean, view was lovely. The breakfast was amazing I was so full afterwards. The couple that run it were so friendly and helpful. We had left behind some of our clothes and they very kindly posted them to us- so nice of them. Will be staying here again hopefully when we next visit Blackpool.

A group of us stayed here for a long weekend. The rooms were nicely decorated and bedding was lovely. Beds were very comfortable. Noise was minimum. Downside was some of the rooms only had a bath and did not have showers. The bathrooms need updating as does the furniture in the rooms. Price was very competitive though. Breakfast was lovely and vegetarians are catered for upon request. Hosts are welcoming. Being situated not far from the north pier is okay as it is only 10 minutes walk to the tower and the town.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms have seaviews.

I just couldn't fault it. the accommodation was exceptional, beautiful bedrooms and sooo comfy. food also good veggies well cooked and not raw.
The proprietors were nice and helpful. We couldn't ask for better.
We will see them again. That's for sure

Room Tip: They are all best rooms. But take a look and choose one.

We stayed at the St James whilst we were in Blackpool for the Rebellion festival. We could not have asked for better hospitality. The room was fantastic with a brilliant view out across the sea. The room was large, lovely and clean as was the bathroom.
One (very tiny!) negative comment was the breakfast which I didn't enjoy at all, the sausages and bacon seemed a bit too budget. However, everyone else seemed to be loving it so I think it may just have been me being fussy!!!
Free parking was really useful and it was only a 5 min walk to the Winter Gardens.
Absolutely fantastic value for money.
We will definitely be booking for next year!!

Room Tip: Deluxe room has a fantastic view out over the see, I think this was room 14.
