We stayed only for one night here, Stuart and Hilary made us all very welcome. We took our two grandchildren as a surprise to see the Illuminsations. We had a lovely bedroom with 2 big double beds overlooking the sea and the lights. Very clean and beds very cosy.We travelled by train so a little walk from station. Its a pity the walk to the hotel some parts were a little run down. Lights very nice in deed. Will hopefully go back next year, if we do we will give the St James a ring. Thank you both very much, The children had a super time they loved it.

This hotel has great seafront location, easy to find with some parking spaces available. Rooms are all fine clean and up to date, with en suites with a shower or bath. Kettles and some coffee tea bags and milk in each room. The food was excellent and plenty of it, proper homemade food. Does have a reasonable bar and good prices. The entertainment was good too, staff helpful and nice.
Enjoyed Blackpool, has had a face lift since i last visited, it now looks clean and tidy. The Tower is a must with its glass floor and walls and 5d experience, visit and see. Had a great time, would book again, thanks so much.

Room tip: Ask for a sea view room

My friend and I stayed at the St James for one night on 31st August, the night the Illuminations were turned on. The hotel is right on the Promenade on the North Shore and was easy to find. We were lucky enough to have a car parking spot held for us which was very much appreciated. The hotel is clean and comfortable and has a friendly feel to it. As with many rooms in the UK, ours was quite small but clean, as was the bathroom and the beds were comfortable. We had the evening meal and breakfast at the hotel and both were quite good - the waiter was great! Very friendly with a smile for everyone. There is a lift at the St James (the smallest lift I have ever seen!!) which is a big plus when you're not used to going up and down stairs all the time :) A great place for middle aged and older folk - I dont think its the sort of place to stay if you want to party into the small hours! Yes, I would stay here again.

stayed here for a wedding at metropole ,and could not fault it, rooms spotless, warm welcome by owners ,breakfast great loads of choice you would have to look hard to top this hotel considering the gripps of other guests at the wedding we attended as most other people were not happy at poor condition of rooms ,service at other hotels they were staying in

We stayed here for one night on 14th July 2012 just by chance as had driven to Blackpool hoping to find somewhere to stay when we got there. The front of the place looked nice (as loads of places looked scruffy & run down) so we asked if they had a room and luckily they'd had a cancellation so we got a sea view double room which was lovely. Rooms and bedding very clean, view was lovely. The breakfast was amazing I was so full afterwards. The couple that run it were so friendly and helpful. We had left behind some of our clothes and they very kindly posted them to us- so nice of them. Will be staying here again hopefully when we next visit Blackpool.
