“Horrible hotel!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2014 via mobile

If you even cough be warned!!! My fiance and two friends stayed at this hotel. It was horrible!! The bathroom was dirty had hairs all over the place. We were in our room having a laugh got a knock on our door to be quiet!! It was a Friday at 9pm so not late and we didn't have the TVs on or music!! All we were doing was laughing!!! It was very rude. I would not ever go back. So dirty bad service very small rooms!!! Be warned!!

We came for the May bank holiday weekend this hotel is just the business set about 10 mins from the centre of Blackpool it does what it says right next to the tram stop so was easy to get in and out of the town the hotel itself is very clean and the staff very helpfull we didn't preorder food but when asked if we could order some the went out there way to do it the breakfast was worth the money if you're looking for somewhere away from the hustle of the town then the garlands fits the bill we will defo book again

Nice stay for the price, about a 10 minute drive from the main prom and pleasure beach etc, staff very friendly on arrival and at checkout.
Only bad thing is if you leave bedroom window open then the front door bangs all night so you need to keep window closed when in the room.
For a nice fish and chips try Norbreck chippy, turn right out of hotel and then right at the castle, absolutely beautiful!

Overall, a nice relaxing stay at the hotel and I would visit again.

I was a bit daunted reading other reviews of this hotel, especially mention of large coach parties etc. But I needn't have worried. There was a coach party there during my stay, and the staff coped with no problems. On arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had read the 'other requirements' on my booking - knowing about my feather allergy they had ensured my pillows weren't feather and provided blankets instead of a feather duvet - usually no-one reads that part of the booking! Although a coach was taking up most of the parking, I was directed to additional parking 2 doors along, and there is of course plenty of free street parking too. The room itself was clean and tidy, and was bigger than I expected from the photos. It could have done with a lick of paint though, but this is sadly true of lots of Blackpool Hotels nowadays. My stay was comfortable and quiet, the bar was reasonably priced, and the service was friendly. Good cooked breakfast (and cereal as well) and was very impressed to be offered ANOTHER breakfast when I finished it - I declined due to needing to be able to move about for the rest of the day!

I'd happily recommend the Harlands for a short stay, or long weekend in Blackpool.

It's far enough out of the way to be quieter, the service is excellent, and for £4.50 you can get an all-day ticket into town (on the regular trams and buses) - or £2 each way. Family tickets will probably work out cheaper.
