Reviewed 28 July 2013 via mobile

Just had two days in the waves hotel with my wife and two kids, aged 3 & 9. From the minute we got there till the minute we left it we was made to feel welcome first impressions was fantastic, John and dean was perfect hosts. Clean house through out, and breakfasts was top draw they both go out of there way to help, 10 out of 10 all round, definitely the best b&b in Blackpool, and we have already booked up for October.. Top notch 10/10

Just returned from a brilliant few days in sunny Blackpool! This was a family holiday with 2 sons ages 7 and 1. Every review is true the owners John and Dean really do make your holiday so special and welcoming is one of many words to describe the owners, aswell as harvey also entertaining kids . For what we paid we were delighted, It's clean, tidy, has everything you want for families in a lovely well kept street in quiet area away from rowdy parts of Blackpool. We had room 5 with 2 separate rooms with a toilet and basin in one and the same with shower in other room. Plenty of fluffy clean towels, beautiful views over gardens and towards tower. Beds really comfy and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent fresh well cooked nothing was a bother to John or dean. John is the man for information and vouchers we went to several places reccommended and also saved a lot of money from these. Have recommended them to friends already.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Waves with my husband and 2 sons and my cousin and her 2 sons. This is one of the best places I have stayed where we were made to feel so welcome by owners John and Dean. Accommodation clean and tidy, breakfast was great rustled up by masterchef himself Dean. Entertainment was provided by John who was absolutely amazing with the kids and kept them entertained throughout our stay. A quote from my 7 year old son "This was the best hotel ever" The accommodation is situated in a nice quiet part of Blackpool which suited ourselves perfectly with the kids. Any future visits to Blackpool will definitely include a stopover at Waves.

Room Tip: Family room on the top floor has the most fantastic views

Arrived and received a lovely welcome from Dean and John, (and from Harvey later on!) we were made to feel most welcome, nothing was too much trouble for the guys. The room was lovely and clean with a great view of the tower. Bed comfy and we slept like babies. The breakfast is to die for! Plenty of choice of both cooked and cereals. We will hopefully be returning later in the year.

Just returned from a brilliant weekend in sunny Blackpool! This was a family holiday with our 6 year old son, so we always book somewhere to suit us all. Every review is true the owners John and Dean really do make your holiday so special and welcoming is one of many great words to describe the owners. Hotel is the best we have ever stayed in and we are very fussy. For what we paid we were delighted and would pay more purely as it truly deserves 5 stars for everything. It's clean, tidy, has everything you want for families in a lovely well kept street in quiet area away from rowdy parts of Blackpool. We had room 5 with 2 separate rooms with a toilet and basin in one and the same with shower in other room. Plenty of fluffy clean towels, beautiful views over gardens and towards tower. Beds really comfy and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent fresh well cooked nothing was a bother to John or dean, they just go the extra mile for you in every way. John is thee man for information, vouchers or booking a table at a restaurant! We went to west rock cafe recommended and it was superb John even gave us a money off voucher and phoned to get us a table. We spoke to various people there and all had been before as Waves really is a home from home and you couldn't feel more welcome. Do not book anywhere else we will never go anywhere apart from waves and have recommended them to friends already. We have stayed in various hotels in the uk, abroad and paid double a night but never received service as brilliant as it is at this hotel. Smaller truly is better and as they say at Waves " come as strangers leave as friends". We will be returning whenever we can as soon as we can! From Gordon, Michelle (aka Beryl) and wee Lucas x

Room Tip: Front rooms have brilliant views.

This is a small family friendly hotel located at Gynn Square at the north end of Blackpool. Its about a 20 minute stroll into town so you are away from all the hustle and bustle of Blackpool, yet close enough if you want to go into town. Gynn Square is lovely and the local pub The Gynn is great. Huge beer garden and a good choice of food and drink

Back to the hotel, you will not find 2 more helpful or friendlier people than Dean and John who own the hotel. From the moment you arrive until you leave they are always smiling and make you feel so welcome. The room we had was at the front and had great views over Gynn Square and the sea. It had everything you need for your stay, comfy bed, TV, tea and coffee, hairdryer and plenty of stogae space for your clothes. The en suite shower was decent and the towels were lovely and fluffy and soft.

Downstairs is a TV room which also has a Playstation. There is also a small fridge and the guys sell beers and soft drinks as well as snacks, all very well priced, much cheaper than the shops. We did not try the sandwich platter, which is available, between 5and 8 pm and the price again was very good and the choice was excellent. There is also a small consevatory at the front of the hotel which is a real suntrap.

On street parking is available which is a real bonus in Blackpool and even at weekends we manged to get parked.

Breakfast is very good, choice of cereals and fruit juice as well as a full and I mean full English breakfast. vegetarian choices are also available.

If you need any advice on what to do where to eat etc Dean and John have a great knowledge of where to go. They also have a selection of vouchers available for discounts off attractions in Blackpool which can help you save you some money.

In summary, fabulous hosts, very clean hotel, quiet location, very family friendly, great breakfast, what more could you ask for. Can I have rate this as 6 star???

we stayed at waves in june this year and what a great choice we made, we were in one of the family rooms which was very spacious & very comfy in the front of the bedroom was a doube bed, shower & bathroom and another double bed & bathroom as you come into the bedroom. The views are stunning from your bedroom window overlooking the sea. My daughter was in the bedroom below mine and again a beautiful very spacious room. You could hold a party in that room!!!!! When we arrived we were met by one of the owners by the name of John who made us more than welcome couldn't do enough from the moment we arrived. Then we met Dean who makes the best breakfast in Blackpool, totally amazing!! Also there are all sorts of cereals if that's what you prefer. the hotel is child friendly, they have a play station wit plenty of games to keep kids amused, also they have a mini tuck shop which has allsorts of chocolate & crisps also juice which is cheaper than the shops outside. Inside the bedrooms they have everything you need kettle, tea, coffee etc, oh and galaxy drinks which the kids loved, Never again would I be going to any other B&B in Blackpool as I have been in many and you couldn't swing a cat in most of them!!! but myself, family & friends will certainly be staying at the waves in the future. My daughter a partner will be staying in july & I will be back in sept, So a big thanks to John & Dean for a wonderful stay, You are two wonderful guys with a superb hotel, See you soon!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Family rooms are superb, but had a look at all rooms & they are all spacious would recommend the...
