“Bucca Di Beppo, Italian Restaurant, Blackpool”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2011

Our family went to Buccas last night for our daughters birthday. The hotel setting is amazing and peaceful and although a wonderful 5* there was a family, personal touch from the moment we walked through the doors.
From the front desk staff to the waiters everyone had a big welcoming smile.
The food in Buccas is delightful and the portions are huge.
All the staff were brilliant, special thanks go to Scot the Bar Manager, I have never seen a happier bar man in my life, Steve the Manager, who, whilst having a full restaurant still found time to come to each table to ask if everything was OK, Josh who was our waiter, was a joy, in all I never saw one member of staff or customer without a big smile.
Our daughter was treated like a princess and had a great time.
I would recommend this hotel and especially Bucca Di Beppo, I will certainly be going again.
Penny Westhead and Family.

Stay here for 1 night bed and breakfast with my husband and 2 children age 9 and 4. We arrived at hotel at 4.30 and checked in. In the room there was no information folder, just leaflets advertising pubs, restaurants and golf. The complimentry water was already opened and partly used. There were no soap, shampoo etc in bathroom, except an empty dispenser on the wall. Got the feeling room had not been checked propertly before we were given it. The decor in hotel is lovely, however for the money charged I feel it is the little touches which make the difference. Breakfast was average, but again, at the money charged, I would expect not have to stand and wait in queue to make own toast.
Passed information onto reception but only apology offered.

Me and a friend stayed at the hotel for 1 night for a girly night away.
What can i say but FANTASTIC! From the moment we arrived we were looked after by the attentive reception staff, checked in early and given a free upgrade.
Rooms are lovely and spacious with more than what you would expect from a hotel. Bathroom was huge with a bath & shower and plenty of room to get ready for a night out.
We had a meal at the hotel and the food was amazing, plenty of choice and fab cocktails! Try the mixed berry mojito! Breakfast was equally as good with everything we needed to cure a hangover.
All in all the best hotel ive stayed in! Ive booked to take my hubby back for our anniversary and cant wait!
Thank you so much for a great stay!

If i was to rate Herons Reach on its appearance, the hotel would have got a better review.

The drive up to the hotel is impressive, and the hotel lobby is lovely. On checking in, the receptionist had to call housekeeping to see if our room was ready (which i thought was a little disappointing seeing as we had arrived well after the time stated to check in), it wasn't but said that it would only be 5 minutes. On getting to our room, the lady still had to put the covers on the bed, so we left our bags and went to the bar for a drink.
The bar - Pub Victory was nice, with a large beer garden which looks over the golf course. We only had drinks, which were good, but people on tables near by had food and it smelt lovely!
The room was nicely decorated, though when getting ready, the room was a little dark. Our room overlooked the outside pool, which looked really nice, but with people using the facilities early in the morning, you can hear them splashing around etc from the room.
The bathroom was small, and had no extra's that you would expect in a De Vere hotel - such as the mini toilettries etc. The bath was TINY! I am 6ft, and when i was sat down, my legs were the entire length of the bath! There was a shower too at least.
Breakfast in the morning was chaotic to say the least. We arrived at 9am, with half the hotel. They have a crazy system of checking in with someone on the front desk and then waiting for them to seat you. People were milling around everywhere, with no explanation of how long it was going to be. Inside there is a station for toast/cereal and pastries and then a station for a cooked breakfast, with the frest fruit/yoghurt next to that. Once seated the breakfast was nice. On the way out of the restaurant, I noticed a lot of empty tables, that the waiting staff hadnt managed to go and clean, and a hoard of people outside waiting to be seated. I'm sure if the staff were more efficient, then there wouldn't be the huge wait to get a seat.
We didn't use any of the hotel facilities, so i can't comment on them, but there is an indoor/outdoor pool, both of which looked nice and clean.
