If you weren't depressed before you go to this hotel you will be by the time you leave!!

We have stayed at this hotel before , 2 years ago and what a difference.

It is now the most dark and miserable hotel I have ever been in, starting in the reception area and throughout the hotel from corridors ,stairs , to Italian restaurant .

In a family bedroom there is black striped wallpaper ,dark grey and maroon paint and dark wooden blinds , grey and red stripy carpet , no wardrobe to hang clothes and the room itself is very small. The bathroom too was very small with dingy floor tiles and really needed a good clean especially behind the door and toilet!!! The towels left so much to be desired! The room was stuffy with no air and if someone was using the shower the window steamed up as window restrictions allowed only a small opening. Presumably health and safety reasons.

We only had one meal here and that was breakfast .It was so basic , no fresh fruit or children's cereals . There was a choice of orange juice, not fresh, or water for the children to drink no apple juice or hot chocolate in the hotel. Also if you arrived after 9am there was a massive queue!

There is a Starbucks cafe situated by the reception which is all well and good until the staff decide to clean in the evening and put out large yellow signs and cleaning trolleys , does little to enhance the hotel when booking in.

We all couldn't wait to check out .....never to return!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the back of the hotel.

Family plus room was rather cramped and bathroom far too small, not even that clean with dust on the floor. Very dark room due to a small window in the corner, also hot (no air con). Not even a biscuit on the tea tray!
We arrived on a hot day, so the outdoor swimming pool was a pleasant surpise.
Breakfast was the usual mad rush at 10am, lack of staff, plates and glasses. Had a ask 3 times for a coffee.

Just had the Saturday Rib Eye steak deal with bottle of wine for 2. One of the best steaks I have ever had. Came with chips & side salad and the wine was of good quality ( Argy Malbec ). Would def go back

We booked this based on the bigger room for 2 adults and 4 kids in one room. It was terrible. The bathroom is tiny with soap in a dispenser too high for the kids to reach and no towel rail?? Our room was at the front of the hotel overlooking a patio. It was 3am before we got to sleep with the noise of chatter and scraping chairs below our room. There was also the constant stream of cars till the early ours. The window only opens a few cm so it was very stuffy and hot. The breakfast was very basic. Why the situate family rooms above a patio area I have no idea. We asked to be moved rooms but the hotel was full, so no joy. Thoroughly disappointed :(

Visited with a golf society in early August 2012.

We stayed for 1 night with Bed, Breakfast & Evening Meal (including 2 rounds of golf).

The Hotel was a good standard with very reasonable prices for beer using the free issued "V Card". This gives a discount on popular drinks at the bar like Becks Vier for a very reasonable £2.50!

The golf course was well maintained and a good challenge. It wasn't the longest of courses, although there are many holes where the accuracy is very important especially the last 4 holes with OB out either side of each of the holes.

The dissappointing aspect of the trip was the service and quality of food during the evening meal. Many of our party did not get starters, and the availability / selection of food on the buffet was poor.

Other than this, it was a very enjoyable trip.

After driving up to Blackpool for the day, looked for a last minute hotel on Expedia! Stumbled across the De Vere and was absolutely delighted! Indoor & outdoor pool, spa, golf course, 2 restaurants & a Starbucks! Gorgeous, clean luxurious room which overlooked the outdoor pool. Really enjoyable buffet breakfast. Right next door to Blackpool zoo! Will Definately be staying here again!
