My 11 year old daughter and I stayed here for two nights as a wee treat away from the rest of the gang before she starts high school. As we had never been to Blackpool before I was totally lost with where to begin.
At first we looked at some of the big hotels which all came with high price tags and mixed reviews... Then we came across this wee gem :) after reading the reviews alone in trip advisor I was convinced that we would have a great stay.
We arrived around 10 am dropped our bags off and headed down to the pleasure beach.
The tram stop is right across the road which is great £9 gets you a family all day ticket.
We went to the hot ice show after the pleasure beach closed so arrived back rather late.
We were still greeted with a lovely smile and told that our bags had already been taken up to our rooms - perfect - our twin room was a nice size for the two of us, nicely decorated and very clean.
Breakfast both mornings was great, the young girls were very polite and couldn't do enough to accommodate you.
My daughter ventured through to the bar both nights to get a wee drink before bed on her own, which I never would have allowed had I not been totally comfortable with the feel of the hotel. No hen/stag nights allowed etc so a great nights sleep was guaranteed with no loud groups wondering past your door at 5am.
Over all I can't say enough good things about this hotel. We will be visiting again for sure.
A big thank you to all the staff for a fantastic stay.
Marion & Gemma

The Rutland is a fantastic place to stay in Blackpool, It's perfectly placed,as in, you have the peace and quiet with amazing sea views, or you can be in the hustle and bustle of blackpool centre within a 5 minute walk.
The Rutland is a fantastic family run hotel, which is impeccably clean and really comfortable.
Breakfast is fantastic and plentiful and sets you up for the day.
Basically we're saying stay here cos we wouldn't stay anywhere else!!!

We've just arrived back from the Rutland Hotel after a 2 night break with our 4yr old daughter..
We were made to feel really welcome when we arrived a little early to check in but this didn't seem a problem as the room was ready for us. The room was lovely and clean with a very clean en suite and a lovely sea view.. The breakfasts were lovely and everything you'd expect on a breakfast menu.. also the bar area is a lovely homely feeling place with nice sea views (contradicting what others may have put in earlier posts) ,and great service. Nothing at all seemed to be too much trouble.
All in all you can't go far wrong than booking a stay here.. Great hotel!!
Hope to see you all again soon

What an excellent find this hotel was. Privately owned and run by Adrian and Kay who were very friendly and welcoming. About 12 minutes walk after the North Pier so very near to the main attractions of Blackpool but far enough away so you have a restful night. No single night stays, no hen or stag dos permitted. Great for families of all ages. The tram stop (Wilton Parade) is literally 20 yards from the hotel front door. Very good room amenities, pleasant decor throughout. Dining room is on the ground floor adjacent to the entrance hall and the bar is on the first floor with spectacular views over the Irish Sea. The bar and restaurant are only open to residents.

The bar was very comfortable with plenty of soft furnishings, pool table, a large flat screen TV half way into the bar and a couple of fruit machines next to the bar. Easy listening music is played which makes for a good background atmosphere. Bar itself very well stocked and also additional tea, coffee, milk, sugar that you can purchase for a nominal charge of only .50p with profits going to the RNLI (great cause, great idea). There was enough individual milk portions, coffee sachets and teabags in small glass jar with lid in the bedrooms, nice to be able to have teabags like you have at home.

The bedrooms (we had one double and one twin) were very comfortable with en suite shower, loo and sink. Plenty of running hot water! Flat screen TV, digital clock radio and plenty of wardrobe space.

The dining room has a fresh but quaint feel, very comfortable and breakfast was good. The young waitresses were very attentive and looked after us very well. Nice selection of cereals, grapefruit, yoghurts, preserves etc and full English breakfast cooked to order.

Really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning if we go back to Blackpool.

Thank you Adrian, Kay and the other hotel staff.
