“Colditzs by the sea”
Reviewed 16 March 2014

Stayed 15th march after being dumped here after savoy over booked and dump is correct way to describe the place .
Stayed in room 336 , though wasnt expecting luxury was not expecting what we found .
Firstly the tv had sparks flying out of back so we reported it , had to wait 3 hours to get sorted , but we were kept entertained by the neighbours on either side because the walls are so thin could hear entire conversations .
Finally tv was replaced only for us then to find that when those above us had a shower it poured through our light in bathroom , hence having to wee in the dark .
Terrible nights sleep as matress so thin and lumpy combined with the guy next doors snoring .
woken at 5.30 listening to next doors tv through paper thin walls, could actually hear him change channels ,
though did mean we were early for breakfast OMG wish hadnt bothered as food diabolical
What advice would i give to Norbreck thats simple bloody knock it down and start again ..

I have been coming to the hotel for over 10yrs at least once a year for a 5 day break and always re-book for the following year and feel compelled to come to the defence of the hotel and am shocked by so many bad reviews after all its always available at bargain rates and you can't have it all ie bargain and 5*.
I have always found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and professional, food acceptable and the rooms and service good, sure the hotel is a little tired and dated and the old style TV's a little dated but if you make some allowances for its value for money and take into consideration the fact that to update the tele's alone would cost half a million pounds I think its exceptional value for money, I mean to say, unlimited food, free cinema and evening entertainment all for £29 double room per night!! lets get real.
I have no doubt I shall keep returning with my family for years to come and continually thank staff for their great service, Joy the supervisor on the front desk is fantastic at her job and incredibly helpful, with always get some upgrade when we visit and have found any complaints always dealt with quickly, so give yourselves a break, visit and enjoy, we can't wait for our next visit.

Room Tip: pay for a basic room and often you get a spa bath upgrade.

Sure the hotel is tired, but for the money it's outstanding value, It was warm, clean, the shower was great and there was plenty of free parking. And to top it all off it included a buffet style breakfast

Room Tip: A sea view room is better but not essential as the price is right

This has been our 7th visit here and we stopped for 6 nights dinner, bed and breakfast. If you come here expecting 4 or 5 star service and accommodation then expect to be disappointed.
The rooms and decor are tired but still serviceable. Breakfast was good and tasty as was the evening meal which was a good selection. The staff were always friendly.
The leisure suite is excellent and enjoyable as was the evening entertainment.
The room we had was a sea-view as requested and decent. The showers however are excellent, powerful and hot.
Bar prices are unfortunately expensive, but most hotel bars are.
We've kept returning for a relaxing break and will continue to do so.
But I cannot stress enough, if you want 4 to 5 star accommodation then look elsewhere.

stayed here 2 nights £50 2 people bed and breakfast. Hotel is in need of cosmetic updates but hey! it was ok! our room was clean and tidy along with linnen and towels. ok tv only had 4 channels but you dont go to blackpool to sit in your hotel room and watch tv! Breakfast was fine full english as much as you want, cerials, fruit. for the money, we thought it was ok. The staff were friendly and polite. Each to thier own. you have to find out for yourself!
