“Family trip”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

Excellent facilities. Had a family room. 2 single beds (Creaked badly and woke us up) a sofa bed and a camp bed. Breakfast was great. Room service prompt. Great view of the beach. Very clean. Would stay again subject to the single beds being renewed.

An ugly hotel in a terribly run-down town. The bedrooms still have touches from the 1970's (Rediffusion anyone?) while the public spaces may just have been acceptable in the '80s. The sad thing is, having walked along the promenade, this may well be one of the better hotels in this sad, tatty town.

I was concerned to hear you did not enjoy your stay in Blackpool and the hotel. I am sorry we did not have a recently refurbished room to allocate to you due to business levels in the hotel. Our bedroom refurbishment programme is an ongoing process and completed on a rolling programme. Blackpool itself has had lots of recent investment, with a new tram system now in operation, and lots of ongoing projects in place for the future. Thank you for your comments. Hilton Blackpool has the best all round hotel staff that we have met, and i have travelled near and far. The room was clean and well serviced. The food was very good with with variety and was good value for money. We chose this hotel as we travel with an elderly and disabled mother, we are very carefull where we stay due to some experiences in the past. this hotel did exactly what it said it would. This was our mothers break and a treat from us. as she is now 85 and first took us to Blackpool as children many decades ago. To revisit staying at the Hilton was great, facilites were excellent and the staff most helpfull.

This hotel is well situated and very friendly and comfortable with good food and service. Our stay was excellent, but next time we would not have a room so near the lift. Other guests are not always considerate of people sleeping. But the hotel itself is excellent and we will stay again and would certainly recommend. And if you stay do try the food. Excellent both in quality and value.

I stayed with my family on Thursday 5th June 2014 for an over night stay. We paid for the extra dinner which was relatively cheap at £18.50 per person - however only cheap if the food was usual Hilton standards. It wasn't. I had the Carvery as had my wife. It was more School canteen than Hilton. As a Hilton Gold member I am used to staying at hotels such as Hilton Manchester Deansgate, Edinburgh Caledonian or Glasgow William Street - all fantastic. This was not in the same class, it was basic, poor food, poor choice of buffet, King Deluxe room was anything but King Deluxe.

After putting the kids to sleep my wife and I retired to bed, only to be put off by a smell of sickness, either from the bed of carpets - not good. It was too late to phone reception and wake and move three kids so reception staff were informed the next day but seemed less then interested.

Anyway they must work harder to be of Hilton standard. I won't be back to find out!

Stayed here again for a weekend conference, one of the best hotels in Blackpool. Speedy check-in, my room was ready when I got there. Plenty of space in the room ( Room 551), its on the back. Wi-Fi still has the "clumsy login system if you are BT customer, and you have to log back in every time you want to use it. Excellent carvery dinner in the evening, and a mega breakfast in the morning. Room was spotless as usual, and a lovely nights sleep. Gets my vote every time. Photos to follow.

Room Tip: Room 551 faces the back, nice and quiet and loads of space.
