“Excellent room upgrade”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2014

We broke our trip to Glasgow this weekend with a stopover at the Hilton Blackpool which was paid for with Hilton honours points (a regular customer scheme), and we got a fabulous upgrade to a fabulous suite, a glorious sea view room with separate lounge area so big you could have held a party for fifty!

This is a great position on the seafront which is usually spoilt by the weather but on this occasion Blackpool was like Marbella.

A good decision to stop over.

We stayed at the Hilton when we came to see Rod Stewart in concert. I've stayed here before but having read some earlier reviews it was a bit uncertain on what to expect.
Our stay was excellent and I sometimes wonder what some people expect. Room on 7th floor was great and the breakfast was the usual buffet style but really couldn't be faulted.
All in all a very good stay

Probably the most well-known brand in the hotel world and yet quality seems to have been missed off the 'to do' list for this sad and tired hotel. Public areas are beautiful but bedrooms are little better than those of a cheap bed & breakfast.

It's clean - I'll give them that and it's certainly not uncomfortable but the fittings are poor and fast closing in on their 'sell by' dates, bedside lights didn't work, bathrooms are too tiny to fit two adults in at the same time. My biggest gripe is that having stayed in similar standard hotels all over the world I can't believe that this one isn't air-conditioned!!! When the windows only open a few inches, our room reached temperatures where we could have baked bread on the window sill. Stupidly (on my part at least) I expected one of the worlds premier hotel brands to at least have have air-con....

Staff are lovely, friendly, knowledgable and generally very 'smiley' people. Waiters and waitresses were polite and it didn't sound like their conversations were scripted - they lived up to the Hilton brand... such a shame that the bedrooms didn't.

The lounge bar is 'not bad'... not too expensive but full to bursting when we went for a late night aperitif. We took our drinks back to our room instead so we could sit and relax (and sweat).

Would I go back there again... hmmmmm I don't think so. It's expensive for what it is and I didn't believe it was value for money. Get the bedrooms modernised and I'll be back for another stay.

Let me start by saying this was business so I wasn't paying for the hotel.
This is a really nice hotel though a little aged. However for a Hilton I was expecting luxury, grandeur and opulence..... maybe because we were in Blackpool meant this wasn't available whereas Hawaii would be a different prospect (no offence intended Blackpool).
Staff were nice, room quiet which is my main pointer, and breakfast was fantastic too. Located on the waterfront this was a pleasant stay.
Bar is expensive, £9 a glass of wine.

Hotel could do with updating from the outside as its not what you would expect from the Hilton standard but the food and service cannot be faulted. We ordered room service on our first night and the food was delicious. We had a few drinks in the bar and I saw some people enjoying afternoon tea in the hotel (wish i had of known about this I would of booked) it looked good quality food.

Breakfast was lovely every morning and the waitresses were very tentative and always topping our tea/coffee and juice up and were quick to remove our plates when finished.

I would stay here again.
