Booked a 2 night break in a suite. Shown to room 728 and could not believe the noise in the bedroom area eminating from the window. Maintenance came up and could not fix the fault, the duty manager agreed that the room could not be slept in, but as there were no more suites available we had to have our money returned and return home aborting our break entirely. This hotel is looking tired and jaded and I would not recommend it to any discerning family or individuals.

I apologise sincerely for your disappointment that your stay was cut short due to problems with the window in the suite and the noise caused by extremely high winds and inclement weather conditions. I am sorry our in house Maintenance department could not resolve this immediately, and for the inconvenience this caused you, and due to the hotel operating at full occupancy levels we did not have an alternative suite to allocate to you. Thank you for your feedback and comments whcih I have taken on board. Nick Taylor, General Manager

The staff are doing their best to maintain a good service but the hotel needs a renovation. The beds are too hard and the bathroom are not good enough. On our last night it was windy outside so it was hard to sleep because of the leaky window. Lucky we had earplugs!

Recently spent 4 nights here. Have no complaints regarding food or service, however the swimming pool was the size of a postage stamp and the changing room took no more than 3 people without you falling over each other. Also, no family changing facilities so children over 7 may have to change alone. Quality of picture on TV poor and no 'AV' portal so no option to play gaming consoles. Wifi use also charged in rooms, though free in dining room and lounge. Good location as right on seafront, walking distance to town and short tram ride to pleasure beach & sandcastle.
Have also stayed at the De Vere in Blackpool and would choose that over this every time.

We stayed for 3 nights for a midweek family break to Blackpool.

We arrived early & were able to check in but were informed our family room would not be ready until 3pm so we got the tram down to the south pier. The hotel is a little way up from the north pier & a fair trek down to the south pier. We purchased 3 day travel passes on board the tram and these were great value.

When we got to our room we were pleased to see we had a sea view from the 6th floor. Our 2 boys had bunk beds & we had a fair sized double. The room was clean & airy but was a little dated, given what we paid it was fine.

Breakfast was very good and the staff in the restaurant were very friendly. The bar area was pleasant & the hotel laid on entertainment in the evening including a kids party night on the tuesday. The fact that there were children in the bar area seemed to upset a few of the more elderly guests? I'm not sure why? It's Blackpool in the summer holidays in 2014 not a working mans club circa 1974.

We paid £15 for 3 night parking which we thought was a bit steep considering the barrier was up when we left so some got it free. Parking on nearby streets is freely available.

My wife used the gym facilities & thought the equipment etc was good.

When we queued to check out there was a guy arguing that charges had been made to his room , when we checked out we also had a rouge £8 bill charged to our room. We never charge to the room & always pay cash so keep an eye on what they try and bill you for as it seems to be a problem.

On the whole we really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Blackpool, It is 4 star but the rooms are a little dated. We would defiantly look to stay here again if we ever go back.

Please do not stay at this rubbish hotel. The staff are very friendly and constantly apologising for the state of disrepair, unhygienic parts, things that don't work and the smell. Our room was on the fifth floor. Avoid this hotel at all costs. We have been fortunate to stay in a few Hilton hotels and they have ben very impressive indeed. This was worst than my uni digs.

Built in the 80's I don't think this place has ever refurbished its rooms.

The room we had smelled and was tired.

The carpet did not even reach the walls in some parts of the room and the gap as full of dirt.

We had to request a tv remote control for the tv. This is clearly a classy hotel as they have to screw the battery compartment so that no one nicks the batteries! The lady that brought a spare remote explained that there is a shortage of remotes.

The tv had a hissing sound on most channels.

The side lights in the room did not work.

The hair dryer did not work.

The bathroom stank and the shower curtain was disgusting. There was clearly signs of a leak on the bathroom ceiling which was a lovely shade of brown in parts and bowing.

There is a Living Well gym. Again, what a complete shambles. One shower in the male changing rooms. The lockers are so old they are falling apart ! I have never seen a gym and swimming pool so tired and in need of refurbishment. The staff were very nice.

Granted the typical visitor to Blackpool may not necessarily be a Hilton hotel user elsewhere. That does not mean Hilton can open a hotel and let guests think this is 4 Star. I doubt it is even 3 star.

I will be honest the staff are great and constantly apologised for the state of hotel.

Please do not stay here. Especially if you have young children. It is very run down and Hilton are clearly of the opinion that it's location means it does not need to spend any money on it.

I will think twice about booking a hilton room.

If this review does not put you off, I don't know what will. The only good thing is the staff.

I think hilton should re name it and give it 2/3 star rating. Sorry but this is the truth.

I sincerely hope Hilton respond to this and confirm the whole place is due to be refurbished in the not so distant future.

Totally put me and family off the Hilton brand. I really thought it was a top quality brand for hotels. Clearly not judging by the hilton in Blackpool.

Only spent one evening here due to checking out of the Savoy after spending 10 minutes there.

Warm friendly greeting from the ladies on reception :)

They only had a few double rooms left but we were ok with this.

Reception large and welcoming.

Our room was small but very clean and nicely decorated ;) and also had a lovely sea view.

Food very good, breakfast lovely with very attentive and friendly staff taking good care looking after all guests, clearing tables etc.

Bar lovely with a very nice atmosphere :)

Very disappointed that we couldn't stay for the two nights we were there as hotel fully booked :(

Booked into the imperial for our second night and although a very nice hotel it was much quieter so
we went back to the Hilton for the evening...

All in all a smashing hotel and if we decide to visit Blackpool again we will certainly be staying here.

Well done to all the brilliant staff for making our stay so nice.

The Butty Shop on Dickson Road offers an excellent selection of sandwiches at reasonable prices. If you have your breakfast at the Butty Shop you will receive a friendly service and meet real Blackpool people. A pity the same couldn't be said about the Hilton which really isn't anything special and where the staff speak in international hotel language and can get quite snotty with you to boot. Don't bother paying a fiver to park in the Hilton car park - the intercom to open the barriers was broken, plus you can park for free on the surrounding streets. We got a spot directly opposite the Butty Shop!

Room Tip: Most of the rooms have a sea view, which tbf is one of the saving graces
