“A Bit Tired”
Reviewed 27 August 2014 via mobile

This is a busy hotel that is looking a bit tired in the rooms but saying that it is very clean and tidy and the staff are pleasant.

We had a sea view room but it was such a wet and windy day we could hardly see out of the windows as they are covered in salty mist with being right on the sea front.

As I write this I feel I am putting the hotel down but I don't mean to. It is a nice place with comfy beds and they do a superb breakfast and I would return in the future.

Thank you for your comments and feedback. It is a shame the weather changed and you did not experience the lovely sea views and nice weather we have had recently . It is nice to hear you found the staff pleasant, I will pass your kind comments onto them. Nick Taylor, General Manager

The hotel looks awful....a bit like a prison! However its very well situated near a tram stop and a lovely walk from the pleasure beach action. The staff are really great, especially in the leisure club. The rooms are ok, clean but they need to be updated (take note Hilton!) the swimming pool, steam room etc are ok bit small but very well managed. You have to pay for wifi in your room which is annoying! And the beds were odd...past it for sure! We enjoyed our stay......

Just generally not up to Hilton standards, I was extremely disappointed with this hotel, the rooms are very very noisy you can hear everything through the walls, all the doors to the rooms slammed close every time all night long. They need to have some kind of spring that closes the door better, so it doesn't sound like someone's is getting shot every 10 minutes.
The beds are really hard and uncomfortable, the pillows have seen better days, all miss-shaped and dis-coloured.
The bathroom is very tired and need a big re-fit, I found lots of pubic hair on the tiles and floor, even a few on the towels.
The bedroom furniture was old and chalet like, almost like a run down holiday park, I hated my stay and at the moment I'm staying at the travelogde in London for work, I'm paying £28 per night and I get a better quality and outstanding overall service. So in my opinion if this Hilton hotel in blackpool considers its self a high end hotel chain, then it needs to improve so that the Travelodge doesn't make it look shockingly bad.
It seems as though it's not been refitted since 1980...next time I will pay less and stay in a trusted budget hotel that seems to care about there standards.

Room Tip: Go to the premier inn.

Thank you for your feedback and comments which we have taken on board. I am sorry you were disturbed by banging doors throughout the night, we do expect our guests to be courteous and mindful of other guests even when the hotel is operating at full occupancy levels at this time.. We are hoping to restart our bedroom and bathroom refurbishment programme in the near future in order that we may bring all of our rooms up to the same standard and we will look at the door closing mechanisms. I apologise for the lapse in our usual high standards that the linen had not been laundered properly, this is done offsite but should have been checked by the staff. Thank you once again for your comments and feedback this is important to us. Nick Taylor, General Manager

Hilton, is I guess our favourite brand and generally overall we were not disappointed again this time. We booked a two nights stay over the August bank holiday weekend and we had a lovely time. We had booked a standard room, all rooms, generally get a sea view which is great. I do have to agree that the rooms are a little tired now, clean but in need of some TLC. Similarly with the bathroom (428).
We had dinner included on the first night and noting that the hotel was full we sort of imagined that dining would be a problem. How far from the truth can we be... our dining experience was amazing. A buffet style Carvery. Dining room was lovely and there were plenty of staff, drinks waiter and waitress who fetch you soup if you want it with us as soon as we sat down. Help yourself to cold starters if you wanted them. Two choices of roast meat and nice vegetables... Everything was very fresh and hot! Lovely deserts and coffee and mints...
Bar area nice and good singer on Saturday night. Was nice to come back and have a drink after a long walk...
Breakfast...we love Hilton breakfast. AMAZING! first day staff had had a flood in the main dining room so ended up sitting in bar area but still plenty of staff and a lovely breakfast experience no suggestion of a panic! Second day seated at a nice table in main room and again attentive and helpful staff - have to say all the staff were fantastic. Food at breakfast was lovely
Thank you Hilton Blackpool we will be back!

we (married couple in 30's) recently stayed overnight - and Im not sure what all the bad reviews are about - obviously its not like Hilton London- but for Blackpool its definitely one of the better hotels. We stayed on fifth floor and our room was perfect and clean. great sea view, nothing to moan about at all. we had a slight problem with our key card but this young polite lad from housekeeping asked if we was ok and straight away took the card and sorted out the problem. we stayed on dinner, bed & breakfast and thought it was very good value. The dinner was a buffet style, including cold starter section, carvery section also offering vegetarian options, and a kids section ( sausages, fish fingers etc..) soup and rolls are also offered and a great selection of desserts are available too. Im not sure of the costs for the buffet as ours was included in the stay but Im pretty sure its about £20pp. The breakfast was also great and consisted of English breakfast buffet, cereals, pastries, yogurts etc.. All the staff were relaxed and friendly and very approachable - ok so probably not like typical hilton staff - but who wants to be around them stuck up workers anyway! atmosphere of hotel is relaxed and welcoming.Great stay, all good and would recommend.
really??? No bad points??? - ok well to be fair the leisure area really needs a revamp- its still all usable, but it does let the hotel down slightly.(but then alot of other hotels have no pool and charge the same!) suggestions would include larger changing areas, swimming pool to be redone and perhaps some loungers around the pool (although the area is very small to fit any)

Over all - i would definitely return - and intend to with the kids - as i felt it was completely suitable for family's aswell as couples.

Having stayed in a few hilton hotels I would class this one as the worst! While the restaurant/bar/reception area is well up to the usual standard I'm afraid that stops when you enter your room!! Very tired & grubby, our bedlinen was all torn, few hairs on bed, no fridge, wallpaper hanging off walls, bathroom was clean but just ok, very noisy hotel due to guests slamming doors at all hours would be great if they put some signage up asking guests to respect others after hours especially as we had our 3year old son with us! Bar lounge had bit entertainment on which was good as we didn't want trail around blackpool at night with our little boy. I did fill in the feedback leaflet in our room with my complaints which I then handed to the receptionist on departure fully expecting a response as my email & mobile number was filled in but have heard nothing so what's the point in asking guests opinion!!

Stayed at hotel for short trip away. Had used my Hilton honours points to stay and the room that I had was very good with all facilities working and in order Excellent television and bathroom facilities. The water was hot when required considering the size of this hotel this was a big plus. Only booked room as I did not use restaurant for breakfast and unable to say how the facilities are.
