“Very Welcoming & Perfect For Families”
Reviewed 11 August 2013

We travelled from London with our family to stay in Blackpool and found Wilsons Hotel to be a perfect b&b. It is right in the centre and very reasonably priced. It's clean, very well maintained and smelt refreshing as we entered. The owners (a young couple) welcomed us very well and were always willing to help us out of their way with parking and showed us various dining options around. We would definitely go back during illuminations and for a longer stay for sure. 5 star wilsons!!! Thank you for making our stay a pleasant one.

Just returned from a 2 day stay at Wilsons. I have never been rung by an owner ( in the afternoon) to see if we were going to check in as he had to go out. This was all we saw of the staff. The next day a note was left on a door with a phone number in case of emergencies. We checked out, correction we left our keys in the deserted dining room. So no feedback on stay could be given then. The hotel is in a great position and is very clean. However don't ask for room 2, nowhere to hang any clothes just some hooks and a few hangers. If my husband and I had unpacked our clothes into the 2 living room cupboards there was nowhere to put our case. How anyone could stay in this room for a week I do not know!!! The other guests which kept us awake talking at 2.30am did not make this stay pleasant. I get the feeling, reading other reviews and with my own experience, that this is more a hotel for groups of young people and not families. We did travel with our son and granddaughter their triple room was larger than ours but they too were kept awake by other guests, of course we could not discuss this with any staff when we left today and we will not return.

Room Tip: Make sure that you don't get room 2.

Dear Ms. Ann Mabon,

Thanks a lot for taking time to write review & appreciating our distinguished cleanliness & central location. We also are very considerate towards the points you raised & looking very much forward to resolve them on our top priority. We feel apologetic that one of our hundreds of guest went dissatisfied. Please accept our sincere apology as we needed to attend an appointment for which we left our staff behind in case any of our guest calls in, along with our direct number of contact, just in case. We wish you were there when we had chats with your daughter in law a few times & if we knew slightest, we could move you to the room of your own choice without any extra cost just because at wilsons, all of us have a 'can do attitude' towards our guests satisfaction as acknowledged by other guests through their reviews on tripadvisor.

You are more than welcome to visit us again & we promise to offer you free upgrade in to our superior double en suite room. Just a way to make it up. Please feel free to give us a call @ 01253 749244 where there's always a special offer awaits a call !

Thanks

We went at the start of AUgust for a mates birthday bash. Even though the hotel doesnt normally have parties the owner was nothing short than perfect. Very polite, very welcoming and overall we had no complaints with anything about the hotel. When we return to Blackpool this will deffinately be a hotel that we consider. Top marks and i would really reccomend this hotel.

We stayed for a hen party - (which the owner usually doesn't allow but bent the rules for us as we struggled to find accomodating rooms else where) i had contact with the owner through emails & telephone numerous times as numbers of the group kept changing. He always replied to me quickly & helped me in every way! He & his wife went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. He showed us where to park, & gave us directions & recommendations for what we required. His wife even made us a cup of tea, even though we had the facilities in our rooms! & they let us use their refridgerator for our drinks to chill them :-) She was a lovely lady & both of them kept asking if we needed anything. on day of departure we headed into town & they told us we were still welcome to use facilities until we left Blackpool, which we did go back to use toilets before our journey! B&B was lovely & candles lit made it a lovely atmosphere. A lot nicer than some of the others in town. The rooms were comfortable & clean :-) The showers were a little tempermental with the speed of water & temperature but that was the only negative in the whole experience. For customer service, value & location it was ideal... the thing that stood out the most for all of us was the friendliness of the owners... outstanding! :-)

Stayed for two nights Friday 26 July and Saturday 27 July and the owner was very friendly and helpful as i arrived early in Blackpool he let me and my friends leave our luggage till check in, hotel is very clean and rooms are clean and tidy, only downside is there is no fan or air conditioning in the room so in the summer can get warm as there were 3 of us in a room but other than that everything was perfect hopefully going to book there for the illuminations

I stayed here on Friday the 26th July until the Saturday 27th July 2013, i came with my niece, godmother and her daughter. The staff were lovely and really friendly, they gave the children a lolly each when they welcomed us in. The staff took us to our room and allowed me to leave the pram in the lounge area. Our room was just what we expected, very clean and smelt lovely. The staff asked if i needed a travel cot for my niece and explained that our towels were just in the dryer and they would bring them up when they was dry. When we left our room the staff told us to have a lovely day and explained if they was anything we needed just to ask. When we got back at night time, my niece wouldn't settle and she wanted to sleep in her pram. The Lady from the hotel carried the pram up the stairs for me and was comforting my niece asking if she was ok. When it came to checking out of the hotel, the staff was lovely and asked if we had a nice stay and to have a safe journey home.
We have now found a friendly, reliable hotel which we was really impressed with and we are going to book to stay again around Christmas Time.

Room Tip: We stayed in the quadruple room which was a double bed and a set off bunk beds, it was lovely!
