“Absolute dump - wiped my feet on the way out!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 January 2010

Place is a dump. Tiny, filthy, damp, cold room. Old, tatty furniture, no wardrobe, a telly that didn't work, bathroom the size of a postage stamp and the bathroom door did'nt shut. Burnt carpet in room, smashed glass in corridor door etc. Need I say more?!

With new owners Martin and Annabella at the Goldhurst it is a fab place to stay, we were all made to feel like family members, the rooms were as described, clean n tidy, parking was £6 per night as advised on booking, and I slept easier knowing my car was in a safe location so well worth the £6. I spent my birthday weekend here and the bar was open until the mast man was standing which on both nights was 4am, Annabelle even got me a cake ! I would most certainly go back there. As for the bad reviews people have given, I think there totally unjustified, if you want 5 star treatment the Goldhurst certainly delivered in there welcoming open arms..... Will see you soon martin and Annabella xxxx birthday girl Chelle =0)

Went for the weekend with 3 other couples.

Good points :–

1. Good location, being 2 minutes walk from the Castle Pub and 5 mins from Tower Lounge
2. Good breakfast with fresh orange, choice of cereals and full English with choice of eggs (fried, scrambled etc) and also black pudding
3. Pleasant bar area

Bad points :-

1. Be wary re parking your car. The hotel charges you £6 per day to use their car park, but the charge wasn’t mentioned during the booking. Bit naughty as we’d changed accommodation we’d previously booked because they were wanting to charge for parking !!
2. The bedroom we had (room 4) was the smallest I’ve ever known in Blackpool. We couldn’t open the room door fully, as the double bed was in the way plus you had to walk sideways to get to the bathroom. Only showered once, as the shower cubicle was so small, if you turned round, you caught the handle that operated the shower’s water supply and temperature. Having been scalded once while I had eyes full of shampoo suds, I didn’t try it again

Fair enough, we only paid £25 pppn for B&B (even though they tried to charge us £27.50) but we’ve stopped in places in Blackpool with better accommodation for same price plus there were loads of places with Vacancies signs in the windows

Interestingly, the Hotel has been removed from the official Blackpool Hotels website http://www.blackpool-hotels.co.uk/....................

We had a weekend booked to spend with the girls. It went WAY beyond our expectations.

Annabelle & martin are dream hosts, who party harder than us. The private bar has an always open policy and the crowds they have are mixed - in a good way. Annabell gives you a 'talk' as a group of girl which lets you know that even if you get separated and have no cash etc get in a cab and she will pay. Magic. We felt very safe there, and didn't finish before 6 either morning!!

The breakfast is large, with all the trimmings. Rooms great, clean, loads of towels etc. We have already booked our return...
