“Nice, but niggles.....”
Reviewed 30 July 2011

My Wife and I stayed here recently and although it looks nice, new and clean we have to highlight a couple of things in need of rectification some of which could cause injury in the long run. Having had a shower in the en suite both my Wife and I slipped on the wet tiles on exiting the shower. We are both young and fit but older people might not be so lucky. There really needs to be some kind of platform or mat ready to stand on. The heating was on most of the night and we were unable to turn off the radiator as the thermo valves would not shut. Light bulb was missing in a lamp. Small and trivial we appriciate but when you are settled in bed it can be a pain. Lastly we mentioned no tomato products for my Wife on the breakfast due to allergy the night before, but there was a big fat tomato staring at us on the plate in the morning. Granted the host offered to redo her breakfast. Otherwise nice. Thanks.

My husband and I stayed for one night for my husbands birthday. The hotel is probably one of the nicest we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in quite a few 5 stars around the world. Ursula the owner is lovely and can't do enough for you, even providing complimentary homemade cakes for afternoon tea which we thought was a lovely touch. I can't recommend this hotel enough and if you are a couple and thinking of staying at the Big Blue save your money and stay here instead it is far nicer - we know we have also stayed there. Unfortunately due to being ill we had to return home before trying the cooked breakfast which sounded delicious. We will definitely be back for another visit to the casino and wouldn't stay anywhere else now. Thankyou Ursula we look forward to seeing you again very soon!

Stay was fantastic from start to finish. The owner Ursula was a fantatsic host - attentive, helpful, polite and friendly! The room was five star quality- great choice of TV channels on flat screen TV, en suite was of an excellent standard. Bed was incredibly comfy and room had many other great touches which made the stay relaxing, calming and luxurious. The breakfast tatsed fantatsic and the choice on offer was superb. Ursula also makes fantatsic complimentary cakes to eat - brownies and carrot cake were heavenly!
The bar served a good choice of drinks and all the staff were friendly and made us have a fantatsic evening on Friday. Hotel provides parking which is at a premium in Blackpool which is great. Hotel is located five minutes from the beach and nearest tram stop and close to all attractions in the town. We stayed for our wedding anniversary and would go back again without hesitation. Thank you Ursula for a fantastic 3 nights!

We went to The Redstone for our wedding anniversary and we had a fantastic time we would highly recommend this bed & breakfast to anyone. Its not like the normal Bed & Breakfasts that you get in Blackpool it is 5 star plus.
Many thanks to Ursula & her family for a great weekend

Myself and my husband stayed at the Redstone for one night so we could go and watch the darts! Well what can i say! This really is a hidden gem, the hotel only has 8 rooms so you really get the intimate feeling from the staff, Ursula is wonderful she really does make you feel welcome, nothing is to much for her! The decor of the hotel is stunning Ursula has got everthing right!! It is not very often you go to a hotel where you wouldnt change a thing, but this place is perfect!! from the big comfy bed, beautiful wet room and delicious breakfast !!!! P.S just like to say thankyou to the young man who let us in as we were to drunk to use our key card!!!! Next time we are in Blackpool we will most definately be staying at the Redstone!!

Pure Luxury

I booked a one night stay for my fiancée’s birthday and was blown away by the standard of quality we received.
Firstly the welcome by Ursula was very friendly, she really couldn't do enough to help make our stay perfect. I had asked for a bouquet of flowers to be put in the room and when my partner walked in and seen them she was blown away. They were lovely exactly what I asked for. After meeting Ursula I don’t know why I worried about the hotel, room, flowers or our stay being perfect because she has managed to get every detail from the colour schemes to the furnishing spot on. No request was too much and we had some funny ones lol....

We stayed in the deluxe room which was perfect, our only regret was that we had only booked for one night. Again Ursula's excelled with the design of the room. The bathroom was spacious and had a luxurious feel, as did the bedroom with everything you need for a great stay.

The downstairs bar again was in keeping with the hotel, very stylish. The mood lighting and service in the bar was great, thanks Sarah. In fact we were going out for 9.30pm and never left the bar till 11.45pm because we were having that much of a laugh with Sarah and Ursula.

The breakfast was of high quality with a wide choice, I chose the full English and it was great and my partner had the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon which again was lovely. There was also a very fresh selection of fruit, nuts, yoghurt and cereals. My previous job was as a chef so I am always critical of food and food service but both were faultless and the dining room was so relaxing with the piano and background music.

You very rarely stay somewhere and come away with no suggestions for improvements, but this was one of those occasions. We both felt welcome all the time we spent there and found Ursula a very nice person.

We both wish Ursula and her family every success for the future and will definitely be returning there in the near future.
