We went to Brownes hotel for my birthday. I have to say it was the best birthday I have had in a while. I can honestly say I have never been to a hotel where I have felt so at home!! So much so we have booked to go back there in October with friends. The room we stayed in was comfortable, clean and quiet! We went out for a meal at night then came back and spent the rest of the night in the hotel bar with the owner and was treated like we were old friends. The breakfast in the morning was absolutly delicious!! All cooked fresh for us it was lovely!! So much so we didn't want to leave. We would definately recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stop in Blackpool!! Thank you so much for making my birthday a memorable one!!

when we 1st arrived at the hotel we was greeted by robert and 2 BIG dogs in the bar area we could see that the hotel was nicely decorated but the dogs was a BIG put off when they walked past me my legs was full of dog hairs, we stayed in room 7 which was double bunk beds which wasnt stated to us before hand nicely decorated room but a bit weird with a small type bath and a sink in corner of the room without a wall or anythink to hide it,breakfast was very nice but we was in 2 minds weather to go down for it case the dogs was sitting there, its a nice clean hotel but should warn people aboout the dogs!!

Fabulous hotel, booked this hotel folowing other very positive reviews and Brownes Hotel, certainly does not dissapoint. Very clean establishment, well decorated and well appointed. Brilliant hospitality, nothing was to much bother for the owner, Robert. Breakfast, well, no menu because you can have anything your heart desires, which is cooked fresh to order, absolutely fabulous. Staying here was like staying with friends, would recomend this to anyone. I swear you could almost smell the sea, what a wonderful time, thanks Robert, would certainly return.

Quite frankly, Blackpool is a very strange place indeed... And this Hotel embodies that strangeness in a great location for all of the local 'attractions'.

It is decorated to high standard with some nice touches throughout and great value for money compared to other locations in the UK. But double bunk beds??? Half sized sit down shower bath type thing in the corner of the room?? (we are talking literally in the corner of the room without a wall, door or let alone a curtain to speak of)! Euro disco style music and lighting in the bar downstairs (audible in the top floor although not at any time that would interfere with a regular sleeping pettern)? Weird... Kind of good fun I guess. One gripe would be a lack of adequate ventilation for a property with multiple communal toilets and two large dogs - it had a distinctive smell let’s say. Otherwise very clean. We were, however, woken up at 6am when our neighbours returned from their evenings activity.

I guess I am not a typical Blackpool person so I am glad we had tickets to a brilliant concert on the night of our stay because the town itself has just become a bit of an eye-sore on what appears to be a perfectly nice beach. It’s a rundown relic that has lost its charm. It’s a bit like a celebrity Alcoholic... Once youthful it sparkled, was the life and soul of the party and made fun and brilliant headlines. But now in middle age it's ugly, grey and a bit of an embarrassment and you find yourself asking whether it would really be better for everyone if it was put out of its misery so we can remember the good times.

If you find yourself in Blackpool, this B&B offers good value and an experience which embraces the character of the place.
