On arrival at Browns International we were met by very friendly Robert and Allan. Even had our cases carried from the car by Robert. We were in a double room which was very nice, clean and modern but the bed was in my opinion in the wrong place. Whenever you walked across the room or round the bed, you had to stride over the step which goes up to the en-suite. Not very safe if you get up in the night with the light out. We stayed for 2 nights during a particularly cold snap mid December, unfortunately the heating in the room was off both mornings and didn't come on until night time. Ok for going to bed but rather cold when you got up. The second morning when we went for breakfast, there was no heating in the dining room, and everyone in there was commenting on how cold it was. The breakfast would have been absolutely wonderful if it had been hot when served. The only thing on the plate which had any heat to it was the sausage. Even the tea and coffee when poured straight away wasn't over hot. I can only imagine they are not made with boiling water. The young man who served the breakfast was very efficient and was very friendly. The bar was open both nights while we were there but we didn't go in there so can't comment on it.

On first impression the hotel and staff were great. We booked a twin room but were given a very small but adequate double. Could have been a little cleaner and we spotted two cobwebs and the bathroom floor tiles were loose. The Saturday went ok and when we got back from our night out we went into the bar and had a couple of drinks - great. I noticed that bar meals were available from 6pm.
However the full English breakfast was overcooked and cold. Semi skimmed milk would be better too - who drinks full fat milk these days? When we got back on Sunday at tea time the bar was shut and remained so for the rest of the night as the owner had gone out. That meant that we could not order a drink as the staff member left in charge was too young to serve us alcohol. Fortunately we had already eaten out which was just as well. I walked to a local Spar to buy a drink but was a little daunted by being followed by a hoody. We did not sleep very well either night - the bed was a little too small for two. Blackpool itself is a dump and I will not be returning. Smashing show at the Theatre though - Little Voice.

We booked weeks in advance for 3 couples,we arrived to be told that the hotel had had a leak so we were being moved to another hotel. OMG!!! What a joke! A young girl took us to this Grotty! Shabby,b&b up a side street with no bar , and 1 shabby en suite room! After a few minutes I realised there was no way I could sleep there so we picked up our cases and after some abuse from the proprietor ?or whoever he was ,we ended up walking the streets looking for some decent accom!!! Do NOT book this shambles of a place! It's an absolute joke!!!!!

booked the room months in advance and rang to confirm a few days before only to be greeted by the news that we had not been booked in and now they was fully booked up, we were sent to there other hotel on vance road wich was nothing like the pictures or the discription , it was cold ,small , no breckfast , no bar , no parkng and a inflated price on what we was quoted!
we decided we had been treated very badly and left and found another b+b just round the corner wich was far better and and the servic was fantastic, this was called ARDERN HOTEL

Room Tip: do not use this hotel go to the nice ARDERN HOTEL round the corner

When we arrived it smelt a little bit damp and we were taken into I think was what used to be the lounge?!! We were asked if we had already paid and the told that there would be no breakfast in the morning as the 'fuse' in the cooker had gone, not a good start. What used to be the bar was empty and we were reliably informed that even if it was stocked, the young chap dealing with us would be too young to serve us!. So far we had B & B with no breakfast, and a bar with no drinks! We did laugh at this point, what else can you do? We were then given keys to go up two floors to our room (5), what a joke. The room was no bigger than a cupboard and the tiniest double bed I have ever seen, more like a 4ft which was crammed in behind the door. You could only get out one side. There were no tea tray, just a small brown box with two cups and some sachets, alas no kettle and no biscuits LOL. The radiator was behind the headboard although it was never on. The 'wardrobe' was a rail above the head of the bed so if you did have anything to hang, it would have draped on your face. No en-suite but in the shared toilet it did have a sign 'floor - slippery when wet' yuk. The bed was clean but only 1 pillow and as the headboard was wrought iron if you didnt bang you head when you leaned back, your head could just go through the gaps...... This hotel is a joke. The chap who owns it has apparently bought Brownes International Hotel up the road and seems to have just abandoned this one, which is fine but then don't charge the same prices as when it was serviced.
