I have stayed at the Best Western, Carlton Hotel many times since 2005 - always on business due to the peaceful weekday atmosphere in the lounge and dining room.
This is not a hotel with cabaret and loud music as the norm.
I had a single sea view room for £50.00 which included a buffet style hot and cold breakfast which was great and set you up for the day.
The single rooms are a bit small but adequate with tea making facilities, flat screen TV and free Wi-Fi.
Rooms can get a bit warm and windows generally have a small hopper to let air in; although tower electric fans are provided.
The hotel has an Indian restaurant (Jali) attached - I have tried it once and it was reasonable.
The Caesar restaurant provides a three course evening dinner at £15.95 plus an optional 10% service charge.
Meals are also provided in the lounge area which also overlooks the sea.
Most of the staff are friendly and welcoming.
If you are looking for a typical Blackpool hotel with good entertainment (see my Lyndene Hotel review) then this is probable not the best choice for you- but if you are looking for a quality, peaceful hotel near the North Pier, with good food, then this, in my opinion, is ideal;particulary if you are in the area on business.

Room Tip: try the Best Western site for various deals including DBB

Plus points of this hotel are its clean, smart and in an excellent location, just far enough away from the lively night life but close enough to walk into town in less than ten minutes.

Bad points are the attached Indian is very expensive and as a result very quite. Its also the first Blackpool hotel we've stayed in were the bar closes at 12 o'clock on weekends and you can't get another drink off the night porter. On checkout at 10.15am there was no one on reception and despite waiting no one arrived either. Pretty poor levels of service at these prices.

Rooms are spotless, have flat screen tv, tea and coffee, duvets on the bed and a great fan in the wardrobe ( you never know it does get hot in Blackpool sometimes ).
We had the 3 course set menu for dinner, there was 4 of us who had different choices for each course, they were all splendid, the breakfast choice was good . Again food was cooked superbly, the staff couldn't be faulted.
Would definately reccommend this hotel and we will be staying here the next time we are in Blackpool.

My partner and I stayed at the Carlton Hotel on the 2nd and 3rd of August to celebrate my birthday. The hotel was very clean and hospitable.
We found the staff to be friendly, courteous and helpful.
Wi-Fi was free upon request of a user name and password from reception, and averaged 9mb/sec.
Breakfast consisted of both continental and cooked food from a self-service buffet. The only suggestion I have here would be to place the fried eggs on fried bread to prevent them cooking further in the chaffing dish, this would also soak up any oil as well.
The hotel has 2 restaurants which, although we did not make use of them, have reasonably priced and extensive menus.
We had a sea view room which was quite roomy, well equipped and had an adequate sized bathroom.
The hotel also has adequate free parking which was great as we had driven in from North Wales.
The only complaint we had was that as it was really quite hot and humid (fairly unusual for Blackpool!!), the room was hot too. They do provide a fan but as the bed was set back in an alcove it didn’t help that much. At the end of the day the hotel really can't be blamed for the weather.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room for a more enjoyable stay.
