we live in Blackpool and visit the town centre once a week. We always have lunch here. Last time we went we ordered from the Chicken Club menu. We were served by, as the last reviewer put it 'the ginger one' (how rude of you, by the way, to refer to a member of staff like that) and found 'the ginger one' (his name was on our receipt - Fraser) and found him to be exceptionally helpful, particularly with advising my husband about the ales.
It was a busy lunchtime and we found a table which had just become vacant - it did need the plates clearing but this was understandable as the previous diners had left only minutes earlier (again, quite suprised by the rude comments below - the waitress was run off her feet taking meals out but as soon as she noticed us, our table was cleared and cleaned).
Our meal arrived and we found it to be nice and hot, plates were warm. The food was very nice too. As a regular visitor, I am struggling to see how the (very rude) person below has arrived at his review. Maybe he is a sensitive little flower who was unable to bring himself to ask for his table to be cleared (it was obviously busy when you visited as you said you found the ONLY table). Are you hoteliers by any chance? I manage a shop and the majority of customers who moan and want something for nothing are hoteliers..
All in all, as locals, we would recommend this pub to our family and friends. Great service, polite staff and good food. It does get busy but the staff are there to help.

Visited this great place luckily on steak night we had a sirloin and a large mixed grill with a free drink with each meal for a cost of £17.68. Great value, the food was excellent the service from Paul was first class what more do you need. Will visit again.

Drinks and food prices are great, second (first) floor is awesome, it's almost like the people on the first (ground) floor don't know we're there!!! Food can be hit or miss but overall for the price it's awesome - and don't forget, if you're not happy, just send the food back!! They will do anything here to look after you! Enjoy!

As with most Wetherpsoon venues good value food, drinks and friendly efficient staff.
We visited at lunchtime and in the evenings to both eat and drink and on each occasion weren't disappointed.
It was busy as it was the build up to New Year but staff were attentive and knowledgeable about the menus and the drinks on offer.
Because of the bad weather the roof top area was closed off but there is a lift up to a second floor area which is where there is additional seating and the toilets.
The crowd were a mix of all ages and families with children with plenty of room to get around with pushchairs or wheelchairs - another good visit for us.
