Another great time had by all at the Elgin Hotel for the Doris Day/Frank Sinatra weekend to celebrate Mums 80th birthday and once again I have nothing but great things to say about this hotel. Excellent traditional home made food, served by friendly and efficient staff, entertainment both nights was spot on, we loved Doris Day, what a great voice!

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and I would recommend this hotel time and time again. Big thanks to Amanda who looked after us before we got there and during our stay and a massive thank you to Debbie who is an absolute star and a great asset, one of the best people I have ever come in to contact with in a hotel, flirty gertie will stay with us forever!

Thanks to everyone for making it a very special weekend for Mum.

Many thanks for the feedback Lisa. We were all really pleased that Mum enjoyed her 80th so much. Sounds like Amanda and Debbie played a blinder - we fortunate to have such a good team.
Hoping we can be of service for your next family celebration.
Kind Regards and Best Wishes to Mum and All,

We stayed at The Elgin last weekend on a busy Blackpool weekend: Elton John and Rhod Gilbert both in concert amongst everything else Blackpool has to offer! Our room was petite but very modern, clean and had everything you expect in a room. Breakfast was lovely and prompt. An excellent stay, we'll definitely return!

Me and my partner stayed here a while a go now, we booked to stay for a comedy weekend with food all inclusive. The coach from Chester to Blackpool and back was also included.
At first we were dreading it as we seemed like the only one of our age group to be there. But we got to the hotel and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were very modern, spacious and warm.
The food was absolutely delicious, being served hot, fresh and when it came to dinner we were served a four course meal.
In the day we'd take a walk into the town which took us about 30mins no more, but was a lovely walk along the promenade, and you can even catch a tram there and back.
The drinks were reasonably priced. There are two sides to the hotel with a bar and stage in each. Each night there were different acts in the different bars. The entertainment was a scream!

The overall trip was truely one to remember would definitely return!!!!

We're really pleased you enjoyed your stay and enjoyed being the youngest on the coach! We run coaches from towns in the North of England, North Wales and Northern Ireland - we're always trying to persuade younger people to come by coach. It's easier on the pocket and easier on the environment. You also don't have to worry about driving home if you've had a few drinks the night before - 'Coaching really is Cool' .
Many thanks for the feedback - good to know that the entertainment went down well.
Kind Regards and Best Wishes

After reading other reviews here we booked a last minute one night stay at the Elgin Hotel.
From the first phone call the service was excellent. Sadly I cannot remember the names, but they were very attentive, listening to my questions and answering very honestly and offering me alternatives to the standard bed breakfast and evening meal option.
On the day we received a call to confirm we were still coming, and ensuring we had directions to locate them :-) as it happens we were just pulling up and looking for a space, so they came out to greet us and to ensure we were able to park on the car park (this is limited, so cars are often blocked in, with keys left with staff it is no problem getting out should you need to though).
On arriving we were booked in, and when we advised them we needed an early get away in the morning and would therefore not be able to have breakfast (scheduled for 9am start) they arranged for an early sitting for our family.
The hotel itself is approx 1.5-2 miles from the main attractions, but is on the sea front with the tram system within a 100yds of the door. They have a bar with live entertainment (it wouldnt be Blackpool without it) and it is a deceptively large complex. The entrance lobby is pleasant and clean with 2 vast seating areas for admiring the view.
Our only niggle was with the en-suite, which when we returned at approx 9pm, realised the shower did not work. The main staff had already left by then, but the bar staff immediately had a look and when they were unable to fix the issue, called a plumber who was out in 20 mins and fixed it (there was an airlock in the pipe). The bathroom itself was only approx 5months old so it was a great example, and possibly one of the best I have stayed in.
The room was average but clean. Being a family room with a double and two single beds, there was not much room for bags or to move about. Do not take this as a negative though, as for the money, the location and in comparison to some of the large chains providing lower quality rooms, often with fold out beds, it was great and the kids loved it, but do not expect 5 star luxuries. Our view was to the back courtyard so no sea view, which considering we had excellent weather (I know I could not believe it either) this was a shame.
Would I choose to stay here again? To be honest I dont think I would risk trying anywhere else when they offered so much. With this still being a family run business, where you can see the desire to please in all of the staff, this was a genuine pleasure. I would say to say hi to them from ourselves should you stay here, but sadly being only an overnight fleeting visit I doubt they would remember ;-)

We stayed here Monday to Friday and it was excellent, food, room; entertainment. We have stayed in Blackpool several times over the years but the Elgin takes some beating for value! Cannot recommend too highly. We shall be returning!!! Paul & Christine. South Yorkshire.
