Reviewed 11 April 2013

I stayed here with my dad, sister & her fella, we had a lovely stay .... just wanted to get away for a few days.....Food was top class & so was the service , better than other hotels weve have stayed in. Entertainment was great, good variety and we all loved the bingo after dinner especially because we won a few times.... Rooms were nicely decorated and both rooms had a sea view would definintely go again.

Thanks Bronny – Really pleased that you enjoyed our food, hospitality and entertainment. It always helps the holiday coffers when you win at bingo once, let alone 3 times!

I stayed here with my mum and sister, It was brilliant. Food was top class , better than other hotels i have stayed in, Even did chips for my sister as she doesnt like other potato dishes.Entertainment was great, good variety and mum loved the bingo after dinner.
Room was quite recently decorated, It was a club class room, really nice but smaller than i expected seeing as they are meant to be bigger than other rooms but would definintely go again.

Room Tip: Maybe the only tip is book early then you have more choice, but it was very quiet at night , we were...

Thanks June. We really appreciate your feedback. Good to hear that everything was to your liking. With regards to your room, don’t be afraid to ask for a look around the hotel and select a room of your choice – you can then request this on a future stay. Quite a lot of people do this as our rooms are all quite unique. Good to know that Irish entertainment went down well and that the food tickled the taste buds.
Kind Regards and Best Wishes

once again thanks to all the staff at the Elgin Hotel Blackpool for a fantastic weekend which I came with 14 others for the Grandnational. All of our party commented on how much they enjoyed their stay, the food was superb the rooms lovely and comfertable, and the staff were very welcoming. Jo who booked us in on arrival was very accomadating friendly smile and very helpful. The staff in the dining room worked very hard and nothing was too much trouble, and the lady with short hair behind the bar (sorry I cant remember your name) was lovely and extremely helpful. Everyone has asked me to organise this trip again for next year they enjoyed it so much even though none of us made our fortunes at the races it doesn,t matter. So Ill be ringing up at the end of august with the prices for next year. Thanks again to everyone at the Elgin TOP weekend !!!!!!!!!!

just back from the grand national weekend stay at the Elgin ,it was our 4th stay here as we meet family from southern england here at least once a year and the place just gets better each time.
during this visit it was my uncle Bruces 75th birthday and all the staff went out of there way to make the day so special for him i can not fault the cleanliness and value for money but the staff make this hotel so special.
if stars were given for staff and a friendly atmosphere the Elgin would be without doubt 5star

Room Tip: up grade does not cost much

Dear Kay

Many thanks for your feedback. Great to see you all again this year for the National. We certainly try to create a warm and friendly atmosphere and are fortunate to have a good team here at the hotel. We also have many great customers who know how to enjoy themselves without going ‘over the top’ – not least Bruce and friends!

Best Wishes and Kind Regards

Just returned from our 'Easter long weekend' at the Elgin Hotel , Blackpool. It was our forth time there it just seems to improve each time we go.
From the management down to all of the staff in all the areas they are wonderful and so friendly and work very hard. The rooms have a lovely contempory feel to them with the crisp white bedlinen and it smells fresh and clean and all the utilities you may require are at hand. The restaurant is worked like clockwork and the food is good quality and ample portions.
The entertainment is varied and would appeal to all age groups, good fun.. The Hotel is for familys and couples or single people who just need a break they wont feel out of it.
Looking forward to seeing them again this Septemeber. My husband and myself had a great time and as for Blackpool the money they have spent on it has transformed it to such a high level , you couldnt find a better seaside promenade anywhere else. It is beautiful money well spent.!!
The trams are new and lovely and clean very enjoyable.

Room Tip: We stayed in a family room at the top of the Hotel , noise wise heard nothing from the other rooms...

Mary, many thanks for your kind comments about both the hotel and the new Blackpool Promenade. We really appreciate your complements about our team here at the Elgin – people really do make a hotel (guests included!). We do try to keep making improvements each year – more new bedrooms and bathrooms have just been completed.
Certainly, the new trams and Tower Headland with the Comedy Carpet have been a great improvement to the town – all we need now is for our football team to get enough points to stay in the Championship!
We look forward to welcoming you back in September.
Kind Regards and Best Wishes

this hotel is situated about 30 minutes walk from the North Pier, in a quieter part of blackpool. We found the hotel very welcoming. The newer modernised club rooms which we stayed in, are superior to many other hotels we have stayed in Blackpool and offer good value at extra £9 per person per night. The food in the hotel, is very good, smallish portions but good quality. The average age of the hotels clientelle, was 65+ and I must say they did a very good job of looking after them, even though we were younger. The room was very comfortable, the only down side was the shower was not very powerful but I would have no hesitation in staying here again. At £96 per night, including breakfast and dinner, for two people, this is extremely good value for money and they do have budget rooms cheaper. I would have liked more flexable dineing but this is a small thing as i would stay here again. All staff friendly and welcoming and treat guest as friends rather than guest thanks for a good stay.

Many thanks for all your complements – we genuinely do strive to give value for money. We have tried more flexible dining but because of our small kitchen, it is logistically very difficult to maintain the quality.
We really do appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback. It keeps our team morale in a good place.
Best Wishes and Kind Regards

My family and I have had a wonderful few days at the Elgin. Except for 1 person spoiled a lovely evening listening to the talented Mr Mike Quinn one of the best acts we have seen for a long time. Shame we couldn't say the same for an irritating Mr Flash, who was rude and ignorant . my mother over heard him making snide remarks and laughing with the bar staff at Mr Quinn expense. I would have given 10/10 for a perfect stay but I'm sorry Mr flash let you down 7/10

Dear Babs
Really pleased to hear that you enjoyed our entertainment and hospitality, but naturally sorry to hear that one of the team was not to your liking. Nicky, does have a slightly unusual sense of humour and can sometimes come across as a little rude. I have mentioned this to him in the past and will re-iterate the point. In fairness to him, he really does go down well with a lot of guests and ironically a guest did come to me on the Thursday morning saying how he thought Nicky (on Wednesday) was better than Tuesday night’s comedian.
Many thanks for bringing this to my attention.
I do hope that we have the opportunity to welcome you back to the Elgin and give you a stay fully meets your expectations.
Kind regards
Nigel
