Always wanted to stay at this hotel having passed it on the promenade many times. We were not disappointed. In fact I was surprised that it has a 2 star rating by the front door. This hotel is worthy of 4 stars! Accommodation, service, atmosphere are excellent. No need to write a long review. My advice is to go and sample their hospitality. We will be returning!

Room Tip: Room 111E was by stairs on first floor. Triple but let to us as a twin room. Lovely decor and walk i...

We were 10 women staying for a Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey tribute weekend. We were open minded about what we could expect for what we were paying! Very pleasantly surprised! Location great right on the front and whilst some of the rooms were a bit dated they were extremely clean! Staff marvellous and we wanted for nothing at mealtimes. Food was really good value and they have their system of serving in sittings down to a fine art. Entertainment both nights was really good. All in all a really good experience and we will certainly be repeating our experience later this year probably with a few more joining our party! 18 to 30's don't bother its not your style and long may that continue! Well done Elgin and see you again!

Room Tip: We had a pod room which had just been refurbished.Room 121

The Elgin was always a favourite and we have been going for about 4 years. However we probably won't be going again. Although food still good and the hotel is clean and has some great staff and you can get some great bargain rates its the evenings that are the problem. The hotel is quite away from the town centre during this isn't a problem cos the tram is right outside so you can go either into Blackpool or Fleetwood shopping centre great shopping !!! At night the entertainment lounge is too small and we found the only way to guarantee a seat is to miss part of your evening meal. This is such a shame because the entertainment is great with 2 or 3 acts a night. Come on Elgin think of a solution so we can come back and enjoy the entertainment you offer

Room Tip: Needs a bigger entertainment lounge

Dear Sigman 2014

I was sorry to read your review, not least the headline! I do wish you had mentioned your issue with seating when you were here so that we could have resolved this at the time. Please be assured that the Elgin has not gone down anywhere. We continue to re-invest in the property and have just completed 8 new bedrooms and bathrooms. We have also enhanced our staff training over the past few months and constantly strive to improve out service.

There really is no reason why we cannot get you a seat for entertainment. I’m not sure when you last stayed but if we have a situation when we can’t seat all the guests in one bar, we open our second bar. Needless to say, not everyone can sit on the front row of their chosen bar.

If you do chose to return to the Elgin, which we sincerely hope you do, all you have to do is to ask myself, Gary, Debbie or Amanda and we will gladly find you a seat.

You will be interested to know that we have plans for a large cabaret room that will seat all the guests in the hotel – the architect was here yesterday and is now drafting a design for us. All customer input very welcome!

I’m really pleased that you enjoyed all other aspects of your recent stay.

Kind Regards and Best Wishes

Stayed at this hotel 24th-28th February room 360 room was very nice window didn't work but beside that you had everything you needed. The check in was a bit like a cattle market coach parties had just arrived nobody on reception to ask then Gary appeared and we where herded into bar to be given wrist bands ant told to go back at 2-30pm decided to leave luggage in car and escape from the crowds. We where given our keys on our return and started to enjoy our break the a/I is to a high standard at the Elgin all top brands of spirits Tetley beer stowells wine etc.Lunch time sandwiches where lovely and the afternoon tea and entertainment on Wednesday was fabulous. The waiters in the restaurant are fantastic nothing is to much trouble for them bar staff could take lessons from them found them a bit polka faced and a bit short if you made a mistake which elderly guests do.We found the entertainment was good couldn't have been better really enjoyed it.We enjoyed the meals lots of variety and extra if you needed it.On the Thursday we couldn't decide where to go when a lovely man Nigel asked how we where enjoying everything and advised us a visit to St Anne's or Lytham St Anne's would be a nice day out we took his advise and had a lovely day.thanks Nigel. We where a party of 4 and we would all go back to the Elgin as we did enjoy it and was good value but think they need booking in to be different for non coach guests as its a bit off putting

Room Tip: try a posh pad they look lovely

Dear Emmzipoo
Many thanks for your kind comments. We're really pleased you enjoyed your stay and appreciate your constructive feedback. The check-in can be a little hurried, particularly when two coaches arrive at the same time - thankfully this doesn't happen too often. I know Amanda is looking at ways of easing this situation. With regards to the window in room 360 - the window supplier will be with us shortly to rectify this.
I'm really pleased your enjoyed our all-inclusive package with top line brands - no cheap shots here! Sounds like you also had a good day out. Many thanks also for your complements about the staff 'Team Elgo'.
Warm Regards and Best Wishes

I stayed at the Elgin for one night recently during a freak hurricane! The staff sprung into action after a great meal, sealing the doors at the front, whilst the quiz kept everyone happy in the bar. The staff were extremely friendly, nothing was too much trouble. I had a great night's sleep on a very comfortable bed, and awoke to a much calmer day!

I'd definitely return to the Elgin.

Room Tip: I was disappointed at first to have a room at the rear, however it was very quiet, particularly as t...

Dear Miss Ustravellor
Many thanks for your generous complements. We're particularly delighted that you had a good nights sleep as it really was blowing an absolute hooley outside - probably the strongest winds we've ever experienced in Blackpool. Really pleased that the team here looked after you so well.

We recently stayed at the Elgin for a family function. The buffet food was excellent both in quality and variety and the staff were extremely attentive - nothing was too much trouble. Our room was well equipped and comfortable and the service at breakfast was second to none.

Just back from a weekend at the Elgin. Our room was a superior sea view and was nicely appointed. We had a couple of problems one being the tv which had no signal, we reported this to reception and it was fixed by tea time the next day.It was unsurprising as the weather was awful and blowing a gale so the repairman had to wait till the wind lessened before he could go on the roof to fix the problem.Apparently ours wasn't the only room not to have a signal. Our other problem was in the bathroom where the extractor was blowing out fluff all over the toilet and floor but again this was fixed the next day.Although it did start again on the Sunday morning but as we were checking out it didn't matter. We found the food excellent and plentifull although service was super quick. As we finished one course our plates were whisked away and the next course brought immediately. This is probably because people want to get their seats for the entertainment as if you were not quick there were no seats available. We had to sit at the end of the bar on 4 mismatched chairs and a small table which we found difficult to fit our glasses on and bingo tickets. The entertainment was excellent there were 2 acts on as well as bingo and a quiz all which we enjoyed. The bonus for us was that Sunday Lunch was included and we had breakfast and drove to Fleetwood and then returned for lunch which was excellent and unhurried. We definately will return as we enjoyed it very much.Great value for money!!!

Room Tip: Upgrade to a sea view well worth it.

Dear Jules
Many thanks for your feedback – really pleased you enjoyed your stay. Not least the good food and the entertainment. I’m sorry that you had problem with your TV areal and your extractor fan. The weather on the Wednesday before your stay really was exceptional – 100 mph gusts of wind that were literally knocking people off their feet. I can only think that this is what caused the problems in your room.
I take on board your comments regarding seating but in fairness there was plenty of seating available in the other bar (which had the same entertainment). We do have a new cabaret room on the drawing board for next winter, so hopefully this will resolve the issue.
Many thanks for your comment regards ‘Value for Money’.
We hope to be of future service.
Kind Regards
Nigel
