“Good quality,if the price is right.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2011

We got a good deal on an overnight stay through the Late Rooms site, saving £40.The meals are fairly expensive (Starters average £6,main meals between £11 and £15).Also,we waited 40 minutes for our meal to arrive, despite the restaurant being fairly quiet. One of our pillow cases had a hole in it,and some of the rooms are yards away from the Big Dipper, which some may find a problem.Rooms are clean and comfortable with a King Size bed,and a two bunk beds in an adjoining room, but take care when using the shower,it can be difficult to get the temperature right, adjust it before getting in or risk a freezing or red hot spray!!.Generally good value for the price we paid, but is it worth £130 a night??

Room Tip: Rooms on the top (4th) floor seem the quietest.

stayed here with my wife and 10 year old son in may for 2 nights, arrived friday check in was fast and friendly, if your thinking of hiring a ps2 take your own memory cards as some of the games you can hire need them and the hotel does not have them, we had a family room which consisted of a double bed a partitioned off childrens room with bunkbeds and their own lcd telly bathroom etc all done to a very good standard beds very comfy, our view of the park was not great but still good to see, food here is amazing probably one of the best meals i have had in a hotel, pleasure beach on the saturday was good not very busy, nicklodean land is poor nothing new really just revamped the original rides probably good for toddlers, to be brief a very good quality hotel which is expensive but is value for money you definatly get what you pay for here and we all left happy and would visit again

Room Tip: top floor room

my daughter and I stayed here for one night in June. The hotel room was quite luxurious and tastefully furnished. Breakfast was lovely with a good choice of food. I would recommend this hotel. There are so many in Blackpool where you take your chance and hope for the best, but this hotel will not disappoint. It is a little pricey, but you pay for what you get.

I have stayed at this hotel many times and for me it is the only place to stay in Blackpool as it totally enhances the entire trip. I went for the night with my little boy and stayed in a family room which he loved. We had a room facing the park which we were happy about (why do people complain about this? Its a perk to see the rides going around from your room!), but this time the room only had a very small window which was really grimy on the outside so we couldn't see much and the room felt a bit dingy. We weren't really in the room until late evening anyway though so was no biggy. TV's are a bit small given the size of the rooms but tv's in the family section of the room are brilliant - an inspired idea!
The gripes I have (and have had since I first stayed here) are - 1) The toast machine at breakfast is a joke - theres always a massive queue for it and it takes ages to cook. Well, I say cook - it comes out only very very slightly toasted! 2) Why is there no quicker entrance to the park for hotel guests? Before the south entrance closed it was perfect for getting in/out if you were staying here but now you have to trek all the way through the park and back down the promenade to get back to the hotel which is annoying if you just want to run back and grab something! 3) It is a bit pricey...yes it is a great place to stay but I think the prices should be lower considering it is only Blackpool.
All in all, I loved it and will definately be back soon!

We loved it, simple as that. We are fussy with our hotels but cannot fault the Big Blue. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a 'Rollercoaster View' room and it was just great fun. Room very clean and bed just so comfortable and we got a really good nights sleep which is unusual in a hotel. Staff attentive and friendly and nothing too much trouble. Evening meal excellent and portion sizes generous. Plenty of free car parking outside and free wi-fi. Thanks for a great stay, if we ever return to Blackpool we would use this hotel again it really is far better than any other hotel we saw.
