From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the staff were efficient, friendly, helpful and welcoming. They really do help to make this hotel a must. As our party of three had requested two rooms close to one another we discovered only upon arrival that we had been allocated adjacent family rooms and, like other guests on Trip Advisor, we were delighted with them. Had we had children with us it would have been a delight to watch their faces when they found their bunk beds and their own televisions - a fantastic idea and one other hotels would do well to copy. The rooms were generously proportioned with excellent, very comfortable king-sized beds. The bathroom had a bath and power shower. This latter provided one of the only complaints - it was too powerful and ended up inevitably soaking the floor in spite of the shower screen. The warm room was immediately overlooking the miniature railway track of the Pleasure Beach but the opening hours meant that we were never disturbed. Maybe the lower right hand corner of our window could be checked as there was a draught from a gap there? The complementary passes to the Pleasure Beach were a great idea and, in spite of some truly atrocious weather, we made good use of them. Breakfast was of a high standard and there was always plenty available. Dinner too proved very good quality and there was an extensive range of generously portioned dishes to suit all tastes (and wallets) on offer. The dining staff were always professional, worked together seamlessly and were never flustered even when extremely busy. The dining staff automatically helped one another attend to the guests - clearing dishes and replenishing drinks for example - something many staff in other hotels simply do not do. The hotel car park ensured that access to the illuminations was immediate. If viewing the illuminations by tram be aware that the bright interior lights deny you the chance to view them adequately. Maybe a section of each tram could be left dark at night?We all enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Stay at the Big Blue Hotel when in Blackpool. We definitely shall again.

Have stayed before, and returned so must be a fair reccomendation.
This is a very good hotel for Blackpool, but the details just let it down from being a 4 star in my opinion. I stay in hotels at least once a week, so speak drom experience. Went with my wife for the weekend. Staff very helpful, and overall a good experience, and for the price of a Premier inn (£85 for a superior room) very good. We were upgraded to a deluxe room, i think they needed the standard rooms for all the families ( dont go if you dont want to be around children, it is a family hotel next to pleasure beach after all). Bathroom needed decorating on the whole. Toilet roll holder hanging off, qnd the bath screen leaked so badlythat we had to use a towel to mop it up. Another detail was the wires were hanging down under the room fire. I am being rather picky here, but its just what I would expect to be better in a 4 star. Breakfast ok but busy and a little limited again for afour star. I would reccomend, but expect good 3 star and you won t be dissapointed.

We stayed for a weekend during the illuminations. We sent requests via facebook prior to arriving and recieved friendly helpful replies. We arrived late on Friday night and experienced a fast smooth friendly check in. The deluxe room was lovely with a nice fire. We ordered room service which arrived quickly and was really nice. Loved the two chairs in the room they were great for relaxing. The bathroom was spotless with nice toiletries, although you dont get much in a bottle for two people to use. The room was very warm and stuffy although you could open the window/door, but we couldnt seem to get a comfortable temperature. It may have been because I was poorly throughout the stay. The lifts were a problem as one was out of order. Also the ice machine wasnt working which would have been helpful. On the Sunday we asked for a pass to look around the pleasure beach which the hotel gave us no problems. We had a quick wander around and needed to return to our car as it has to be out of the car park by 1. However the lad on the gate would not allow us to leave through the entrance we used., even though there was no one else there and two steps and we would have been through. This meant a very long walk which took about 30 mins more. I was furious as I was very ill, feeling dizzy and sick with flu and was ready to collapse by the time i made it around the park back to hotel. Breakfast was very busy, but well organised. Overall a good hotel that I would return to.
