From the moment we checked in ( over an hour early I may add) we loved this hotel, we were upgraded to deluxe room right next door to each other. Some of the fixtures and fitting showed slight signs of wear and tear but everything was perfectly clean, bathroom was spotless! Staff were very friendly and helpful, extra pillows and towels were given to us no problem and getting our 2 teenagers sorted with wristbands and then into the pleasure beach took seconds which they were very pleased about, no long queues at the gate for them. Breakfast was delicious and we were lucky we didn't hav to wait more than a couple of minutes each morning! Free secure car park was also a nice bonus. Our only gripe was the free wifi although the instructions were easy to follow to connect we were only able to connect for a few minutes then couldn't get back on, not sure what the problem was and we maybe could have got it sorted had we have asked at reception but didn't really need to use the internet so wasn't a big issue for us. The hotel is perfect for the pleasure beach and there's a tram stop just across the road so easy access to the piers, tower shops etc. overall we had a super stay and will definitely be staying at the big blue hotel on our next trip to Blackpool!!

Very good hotel for Blackpool. Upon arrival our room was ready before the 3pm checking time which was great. Room was a good size , very big bed in room, lots of storage and the kids bunk beds in its own area made it like having your own room when sleeping. Nice bathroom, very clean and modern. Good TV reception and free wifi.
Breakfast time was very busy, they could do with more seating for peak times but only waited about 10 mins for a table. Good selection of items available for breakfast, food was hot and replenished quickly when trays were low. Only downside was excessive extra charge for poached eggs, £2 for 2 eggs.
Ice machine on ground floor was an added bonus. Would recommend for families only due to the number of children in the hotel.

With a name like big blue, we were not expecting much, but in Blackpool for a conference. Upon arriving at the hotel we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is a good quality four star hotel.. The rooms are a good size, good amenities and beds.

The proximity of the one of thePleasure beach rides is quite a surprise, but mid week in April this does not present a problem as Blackpool is closed down.

I would recommend this hotel for all travellers, business and people looking for a weekend away in Blackpool. The hotel is quite literally on the pleasure beach.

We stayed at the Big Blue for our 10 year anniversary on 20th – 22nd June.

We were very happy on arrival as they upgraded us to a suite, which was gorgeous. The living area was very big as was the bathroom and spotlessly clean. We even had a bottle of wine left for us when we got to our room.

It is right next to the Pleasure Beach and the Big One rollercoaster was right outside our room which was brilliant to see. I have attached a picture of the view from our room. When we were there the Pleasure Beach was open from about 10am – 5pm so was not noisy in the room in the evening.

They also leave guides and maps in the room many of which have money off vouchers for various attractions which we used for Ripleys Believe It or Not Museum.

The breakfast was delicious. I am not normally a big fan of buffet food but this was really good. Even though they were really busy we only had to wait for 10 mins for a seat on the first day and we were strait in on the next day.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, you won’t be disappointed.

Have stayed twice now and have booked to stay again next week. The hotel is modern, clean and very comfortable. On the first stay we were upgraded to a more superior room and this was lovely, on the second occasion we got the room we booked. Hoping for an upgrade next Sunday! The hotel is faultless and the restaurant superb. A lovely touch is the bowl of green apples in reception for everyone to help themselves to.

Room Tip: The hotel is on the lines of a cruise ship in that you may walk a long way to your room, so if you h...

This hotel is pricey by Blackpool standards but it is well worth it. The breakfast is amazing, perfect for little ones as you can pick and choose exactly what to give them as it's buffet style. The room was great, very clean and lovely toiletries. The childrens bunk beds were in a little 'cove' of their own, so our tv and lights didn't disturb them too much and they had a tv each, one at each level for the bunks. We had an excellent view of the rides, with the Big Dipper and Big One going right past our window, made it exciting for the kids. Plus got to go into the Pleasure Beach an hour early due to stopping as hotel guests. Will def be going again.
