“Brilliant Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2014

We stayed here in August 2013 and was so amazed with the hotel, we came back in August 2014. Once again, we were not disappointed. We had a superior family room which just about was big enough. My son is only 11, but is quite big and the 5ft bunk beds were just about big enough. If we go back next year, we will opt for the deluxe family room that gives you 6ft bunk beds. Breakfast is very good, but does get busy if you go down after 9am, I would like to mention Jessica who works in the restaurant at breakfast times and is so well organised and professional, she also has a good sense of humour and we had a laugh one morning when my 8 year old daughter followed one of the waitresses into the restaurant expecting to be given a seat, but the waitress was only looking for an empty table for us.

My kids like to put there soft toys in the window of our hotel room and then later on when we went to the pleasure beach, we went on the train and could see there toys in the window when the train went right past the window. We got passes for the pleasure beach most days to have a look round and start the day off, this is a big plus as they are complimentary. We planned a dry day for the pleasure beach and then bought wristbands and went on all the rides.

Would recommend this hotel to everyone and if you book early, the cost is very good compared to other hotels, especially when you take into consideration you get free parking, big breakfasts and complimentary passes for the pleasure beach. Can't wait to go back next year.

Rooms very good for kids with tv's in kids room, for me the big negetive Is with the kids room it was right nxt too the front door which worries me with little toddlers as there easy to open, it's also very noisy as kids seem to be running up and down halls to silly o'clock at night which I would never let mine do , also the breakfast is nice and fresh , but you have to wait far too long to be seated with hardly any were to sit down especially with chirldren I have never experienced that in any hotel I have ever stayed in , for me basically to many people booked in to cope with breakfast demands , seems a little strange for such a large hotel!
Staff pleasant and friendly especially with kids , my main bug to bare with this hotel is they charge you £ 5 pound for any room service you order and it has to be cash they won't accept this being charged to your room? And the issue I had is one night we riders loads of food which come to allot then we had to pay the 5 pound on too which is fare enough then one night we brought some food in , so my wife called down and asked for some plates she said I understand if it's cheeky but could we use some plates they said of course don't be silly we will bring them up for you my wife said no we will come down and they said no it's part of or stay , then a young kid popped up and have the plates too my wife and said that will be 5 pounds room service and for me that's just taking the Micky , I meet had any cash so told them to take it away and the kid got all shirty and stormed off , for me something so petty has left a little mark on out stay and I wouldn't go back there! Think there trying play the big hotel card and there not realising there in Blackpool!

We stayed here last weekend for the second time, with two children. The family rooms are lovely, with bunk beds in a large alcove and a very comfortable double bed and views of the nearby Pleasure Beach. While Blackpool itself is looking tired and run down in places, this hotel is a lovely place to stay and the restaurant is very good (if a little pricey for a family meal) and convenient.
I was unaware there were All Inclusive deals available at the hotel, and this may provide better value for money.

The Big Blue provides comfortable, clean accommodation for families. The room was very hot, and the air conditioning very noisy meaning sleep was somewhat disturbed.

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the rollercoasters
