Stayed at The Chequers Plaza Hotel with friends as part of a coach party therefore it was good value for money. The hotel is in a good location being away from the immediate heart of Blackpool but on the sea front with both tram stops and bus stops almost outside the door (on return journey ask for the Cliffs Hotel stop). Our twin bedded room was perfect for our needs and the beds very comfortable. The food was good, the staff friendly and polite, the only downside is the practice of getting two coach parties to arrive at the same time for meals making it very difficult for the waiting staff to serve everyone quickly and some late comers being served before those that arrived on time - but this is our only moan. The bar is a pleasant place, the barman chatty and the entertainment good. Overall a good hotel at a reasonable price. It be a good place to stay for the illuminations.

Room Tip: For a room with a sea view ask at time of booking.

If your looking for a great value hotel you don't need to look any further than this hotel. Its right on the front with its own private car park. Hotel is lovely and clean. Our room was lovely and spacious. Food was excellent we were there for 5 days. There is always a lovely choice and plentiful. Staff were really helpful and polite helping us with our suitcases and information we asked for regarding shows in fact they were all very attentive. The entertainment was great but our biggest laughs were with the lovely staff here, we have booked again for later in the year so see you all soon. ( Michael & Carol party.)

Room Tip: Front Room lovely

I had carefully researched this hotel as I have a disability and needed to know I could cope with the facilities being offered. I had phoned to book my rooms and specifically asked for a room with a walk in shower that was also accessible for the amenities - not too many stairs or lift access. On check in we had a room with bath and one with a bath and shower inside the bath and the lift to the room was broken it sounds minor but put pressure on our break.
On the first evening we asked for a glass for the room as there are none in the rooms and some ice - we were told the glasses are just for the bar area, we did eventually get a glasses and ice but it was made clear it was an annoyance.
The evening meal is awful, just awful............breakfast good quality.
The rooms themselves are ok a bit dated but ok for the price.
The majority of the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Personally I would not stay there again and I would not recommend this hotel for anyone with a disability lots of people were struggling with steps and stairs due to equipment being out of order.

Stayed here as part of a Glenton tour, my single room was spotlessly clean with a lovely sea view. the room was small, and in need of redecoration but the nice clean bathroom and comfy bed made up for the negatives. The breakfast is adequate although service can be slow, but the evening meals were fabulous with good choices and prompt service. The staff were all friendly and helpful, neither the lounge bar comfy with nice sea views.

Hi Folks. This hotel was brilliant! The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and the service was brilliant! Ample parking and bang across from the tram stop! Sea view too!!

They took us in after we bailed out of the Savoy down the road! Don't EVER use the Savoy!!

Room Tip: Higher floors have less noise

this hotel is a real favourite of mine.i have been 4 times in the last year.i have stayed in various rooms and all of them have been great.got a sea view this time so that was a wee bonus.this hotel is ultra clean and tidy.the meals are excellent-my choices this week-gammon steak, breaded plaice Cumberland sausage and braised steak-how good does all that sound?the portions are excellent-you wont go hungry here.breakfast too is top notch-cereal toast full English, pot of tea fruit juices-you cant ask for more.the entertainment is good fun-special mention to Nicole.the staff are all very good-simon deserves a mention here as he is a good laugh and works hard to keep the hotel ticking along making sure your trip is a relaxed an enjoyable one-this place is to me my home from home! I love the location too-just up from gyn square so there are shops near by if you need them.fleetwood and cleveleys are near and you can get a tram just outside the hotel so again its ideal/
do yourself a favour-when in blackpool go to this hotel-it is great value and you will love it-end of story!
see you all again at the chequers soon!
