I stayed here as a 12 year old almost 30 years ago and really enjoyed it, however, it hasnt changed a bit, even the menu was from the eighties. Nice staff, but hotel needs a re Furb, and pool was filthy.
Lift needs replacing, and the entertainment was also very eighties. Maybe Blackpool is stuck in a time warp!!

Room Tip: Ask r room on first floor.

I stayed here with my 18 year old daughter and two friends. We were having a night out in Blackpool and wanted somewhere good value and that is exactly what we got! The room was immaculate and had everything we needed (tea, coffee etc). The bathroom was dated but, again, immaculate. The staff were friendly and lent us wine glasses for our rooms (for a little tipple before we went out!). Breakfast the following morning really was the full English and set us up for the day. Great position, right near every where you want to be and overlooking the sea. Highly recommended for those who want a really good value, no frills overnight stay.

Our room was on the third floor. There is only one small, shuddering lift for guests and that broke down at one stage. The fire alarm went off during dinner and the staff hadn't got a clue what to do. We all sat there waiting for direction which finally came via a manager. We headed to the main door but it was bottlenecked. We had only been queuing to get out for 2 minutes when the same manager told us there was no fire, they had a faulty piece of equipment. I thought that it was up to the fire brigade to decide if there was a fire and when guests should return to the building. We weren't told to get out and go to a meeting point but to return to the dining room. There was panic for older inform people still trying to get down the stairs.

The hallways and cafe bar were in need of refurbishment. The room was clean but had a very hard mattress. The bathroom was very small and had a step down into it so you had to be alert when going to the bathroom in the night. We were kept awake by banging fire and room doors, mainly by children running up and down the halls at all times of night. The entertainment was spoilt by noisy, unruly children and some adults. Even the artist had to ask people to be quiet.

Breakfast was good but the evening meals were small and lack lustre. The dining room staff were very attentive and polite. Cafe bar and drinks at dinner are pricey.

Have stayed at much better B & Bs

Me and my partner spent 2 nights at the cliffs in june 2012,but have also been here a numerous times before. room was clean and tidy, but beware, the rooms are VERY warm, even with the windows opened. Towels was changed for clean ones every morning if you placed them in the bath. restaurant is large but split into two rooms, tables are waiter served for food and drink, although there is a buffet bar for cereals, fruit and fruit juices ect. tea and coffee is waiter served. after cereals, you can have a full breakfast or just order whatever you fancy, the waiter also brings asmuch toast as you would like. The evening meal menu consists of three courses and is availible on display in the reception area throughout the day. service for the evening meal is very fast so i advise you to ask for a break in between each course. evening entertainment is ok, but quite samey if you have returned afew times, although we didnt stay in all night. the nightly bingo throughout the week is good fun and has very good prizes. The cleanliness of the hotel is good and someone is always pottering around with a cloth or mop. The sports bar downstairs is a nice cool bar although the heat at the side of the pool is roasting. the pool and sauna is a lovely little break away from the hustle bustle of blackpool centre. all in all the hotel is a lovely hotel with nice friendly staff, and bboking online is a good way to keep an eye on any offers they have on. We are returning again in september with other family members. this trip was just me and my Fiance and was a lovely break for us, although we have stayed with our children and they equally enjoyed their stay.

Room Tip: lower floured rooms are quite nosey on an evening due to the disco so if you prefer a quieter room i...

i visited the cliffs recently with my elderly mother. the food was excellent, the entertainment was also excellent. However the rooms lacked air conditioning and were exceedingly warm. there was a fan provided, but when we opened the window the noise from other rooms was in tolerable. the decor in the promenade cafe bar was filthy ,shabby dusty and total unaccepable. the carpets were trashed and the furniture looked like that there had been a bar room brawl. my elderly mother was shocked and distressed as she certainly didn't expect the cliffs to be like this as she has been mislead by favourable reviews by other people who had visited. the other downside was the unruly children who were free to roam and spoil other residents entertainment till 11.30pm at night by parents who realistically just wanted to be shut of their kids for as long as possible as it was obvious that the parents were elsewhere. the children spoiled the nightly entertainment by runing round uncontrollably and no hotel staff were there to supervise, WE WONT BE MAKING A RETURN VISIT TO THE CLIFFS.

Just come back from a 3 night break at the cliffs with my family, all i can say is that my 5 year old daughter loved it, plenty to keep her entertained, rooms are clean but very warm all day/night, we had a family room above the evening entertainment which wasnt the best but it was stopped by about 12 o'clock. The reception staff where fab especially Joanna and Emma, couldnt have helped anymore than they did, would also like to mention ainars a young waiter who was serving our table in the restuarant, very pleasant and well mannered, over all the hotel was very nice although i do agree with others that it is a bit dated, but I would certainly book this hotel next time i visited blackpool.

Room Tip: ask for a seaview as our room view wasnt the best, and if you have small children ask to be away fro...

Once again we have had a short break at the Cliffs Hotel and once again they gave their all to make sure we had a good time, the weather was awful but that didn't stop us getting out and about and being pensioners we are now able to travel for free on the trams. Our room was on the side so we got a sea view which was brilliant. The food was great and we can't wait for our next trip,a three day break for £99 with dinner bed and breakfast you can't beat it.
