Weekend with elderly parents who just love these sort of places and why not? OK our room wasn't the best but then it's only for sleeping in and for the money it's great value.
We used the small gym, pool and sauna when it was quiet on the Friday afternoon and teatime Saturday. The food was of a good quality and plenty of it.
Some of the public areas are a bit shabby but the cocktail bar was very pleasant and drinks were fairly priced. We were with a party of guests and some of them did suffer from drunks shouting in the corridors so I have marked down sleep quality to reflect this. I don't think they reported it to night reception until the next day so maybe something would have been done about it.

I spent a week end at thsi hotel recently for a hen do and it was great. the person who organised the week end got agroup discount so we paid less the normal £50 rate a night. we had an evening meal and breakfast included. I had a single room which wasn't the best location being near the staff lift on the first floor but was very confortable and surprisingly quiet. the room was very clean and so was the bathroom, the bed was very confortable. one of my friends had a sea view room and oit was really nice and a good size.

Breakfast was lovely, not the highest quality I have seen but excellent value for money and the stations were refilled very quickly.
the evening meal was ok. you can help yourself to starters and then pick a main and choose again from several puddings.
the staff were very friendly and always had a smile on and making jokes.
the spa area was quite nice too with a small sauna a decent size pool and a lovely jacuzzi. you also got free wi-fi, so for a bargain week end I would recommend it. there were lots of families and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. the location is a bit more out from the center, so nice and quiet and there is a tram stop just outside so very practicle.

Room Tip: ask for seaview

Just spent two nights at the cliffs, what a transformation in the dining room much better now you can help yourself at breakfast and dinner times.entertainment still good and bar prices are ok. The rooms are clean and tidy, the only down side is the toilet is far to close to the bath. Time to make up dates on that area now cliffs.for my needs I would of liked a shower room not bath as I can't use one as disabled.

Another exellent stay at The Cliffs Hotel we are regular guests. We were the first guests to experience the new dining arrangements which we enjoyed very much. The Entertainment room was very cold so we avoided it which was disappointing as we usually enjoy the entertainment.

Room Tip: higher rooms are quieter.

back from 1st visit of 4 each year, the new dining self service takes some getting used to but on the whole its a lot faster than waiter service, rooms lovely, service lovely, food lovely, staff lovely, my only downer is the entertainment, the singers have been brought from a village club on its last legs. the comedians save the day. dollies bar has gone so no cheaper pints ,its now part of the diining room, bar prices are ridiculous and check your change, they may be learning trainees on but inflation charges each time for the same round is suspicious. parking is best described as a pain in the back side, if you dont get on the allotted area then you are destined to the side streets, , and the best of luck, this hotel has got good potential, they should number each dining table and name the food displayed in the self service, this hotel gives good value for money, stop the smokers from impeding your way out of the exit , you really do have a nice hotel, or we would not come back 4 times a year

Room Tip: keep away from lower levels, 1&2 too noisy
