with fantastic food and very friendly and helpful staff. The only downside to our 2 nights stay was the wind that blew around the old window of our bedroom and the mattress could have been firmer.Overall our room was very clean with plenty of clean towels etc. Bar prices are not the cheapest at £3.20 for Tetleys smooth and £3.70 for cider however they had a happy hour with 50p discount on those prices between 5pm and 7pm.My wife and i would DEFINETLY stay here again. The hotel also has very good leisure facilities ( swimming pool etc )

Room Tip: Rooms on the front appear to have new windows. Our room to the rear had very old fashioned windows th...

We love the Cliffs and have been coming for many years now. We usually come with my parents twice a year, Yes we love it that much. The hotel has had a few changes over the years but this to date is the best. The rooms have been refurbished over the last couple of years and still look good everything you need in them to relax ( well that's if you get time to ) as so much going on even through the day with games and quizzes that's if you care to take part. There is a gym/ swimming pool/ jacuzzi /sauna/ all to use free of charge for guests staying there. Also if you so wished you can book beauty therapies but for an extra cost .The entertainment is good on an evening but when you go as often as we do you get a bit fed up of the same entertainers no matter how good they are, and they are very repetitive and that's the only criticism I have. The staff are lovely and very helpful nothing is too much for them. The coffee shop has some lovely meals in there whether you just fancy a snack or a large lunch and once again the staff are lovely . Now coming to the restaurant I love the new layout and it has been decorated to a high standard and the food is just amazing no complaints at all. We will be back again later in the year.

It had been a while since we stayed at The Cliffs, far too long. Our Ruby Wedding Anniversary was on 25th Feb, so we decided to have a mid week break somewhere & decided to revisit The Cliffs. Boy, are we glad we did! It has had a facelift that has only improved it. Our rooms were great, the restaurant is now much roomier & we loved the buffet style starters & dessert. The Lounge is much more comfortable with new furniture & a lighter décor. The small bar area is a treat to sit in (if a little too hot at times!) & I loved the paintings by John Stannard, I'm now on the look out for one! The staff were really helpful & pleasant each & every time we had any dealings with any of them. My daughter & I used the Jacuzzi & I was impressed by the cleanliness of the changing rooms & the lounge area has been spruced up into a relaxing oasis. All in all we had a fantastic Sunday to Friday holiday. I just wish we could go back soon!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a QUIET room ie: away from lift, & definitely not over the entertainment room if you lik...

Just spent the weekend at the Cliffs Hotel, with my dad.
Lovely hotel, the staff are very pleasant and accommodating.
The food was fabulous and the entertainment excellent.
The rooms are very clean but not in a very good position i.e. next to the lift shaft......
It was a bit noisy on the Friday and Saturday with people coming back very late, shouting and banging doors.
All in all an excellent stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet one......

Booked a late deal with husband and 7 year old grandson. I have been before but not for a few years. We had a brilliant time, the buffet starters and desserts were wonderful as was the main course, with plenty of choice, and a very nice breakfast with good quality food.
Our room 333 was excellent, with flat screen TV and sea view, very clean and comfortable.
Our grandson really enjoyed the basement childrens club and activities, making a pizza one morning and having it for his tea in the evening. However not all the activities seemed to go ahead if not many children, which was a shame. I feel they could have tried to do something with the ones that did turn up, as they just hung around on their own. The evening entertainment was excellent both nights with different comedians and acts. All staff were very friendly from reception to bar staff and the excellent maître de who showed us to our table. He said that we could have viewed the tables earlier in the afternoon to choose our table! It was an excellent value for money break. Our grandson also enjoyed the pool and thought the whole weekend was "awesome" and can't wait to go back. I have to say we feel that way too. I often stay at 3 or 4 star hotels and can't believe that the Cliffs is only two star, it is a well deserved three star, and much improved from my last stay. Well done Cliffs hotel!

Room Tip: Sea views well worth paying for.
