“great weekend break”
Reviewed 31 October 2011

We have stayed at the park house many times in recent years and this weekend was as good as ever. Check was effortless and the reception staff are all polite, friendly and welcoming. For a large hotel Parking is limited so i would recommend getting there early, if the car park is full there is plenty of parking in the nearby side streets.

Our room was very spacious with a nice size well appointed ensuite which was spotlessly clean with a nice array of complimentary shampoo, shower gel etc. The room also had a good array of tea/coffee making facilities but the only thing that let the room down was a small old style portable tv with very poor reception, i feel that if they upgraded to more modern flat screen tv's it would be so much better.

The food in the restauraunt was excellent as normal and our waitress was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble for her. The evening entertainment is ok, with an old guy playing the keyboard in the bar and a singer/comedian in the ballroom. Bar prices are reasonable and drinks are served till late into the evening.

All in all this is one of the nicest hotels i've stayed in during our trips to blackpool and we look forward to returning here again in the near future.

This was our first time at this hotel and the staff were really helpful. The rooms were a great size and the food was excellent. The entertainment was great. The tram stops right outside the hotel which is great if you want to go shopping or other places.will go again.

Just returned after a very pleasent stay at this hotel. We had a slight problem with our room but the staff went out of their way to help us and we were given another room the next day. We found the hotel staff friendly and very attentive ,the rooms clean and comfortable and the menu good. My wife enjoyed the hotel so much that on the day we checked out she booked a short break again for next year

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are quieter

The Hotel is on the front but the parking is very cramped, as we arrived in the late afternoon we had to block others in and leave our key at reception so management could move the car if someone needed to leave. Fortunately this didn't happen until after breakfast next day and we were able to move it ourselves. The room was clean but very old fashioned in dark pinks with an old pink bathroom suite. The bed was uncomfortable, you could feel the springs which made for a broken night's sleep. It was easy to get a tram to the Tower etc ( or in our case the Opera House where Joe Bonamassa had unfortunately had to cancel the gig due to illness, so we had a wasted trip to Blackpool) But...we enjoyed the breakfast, can recommend the Finnan Haddock with poached egg, the waiter was particularly friendly and efficient. Joe has re scheduled his gig for next April think we will try a different hotel....

The staff. friendly, the games room all machines switched off which bad when advertise games room. Good bar, did not watch entertainment.. Not a bad stay fine for the lights weekend.

On arrival, first impressions dated decor, was then greeted by the receptionists who all I can say her previous locations may include Colditz P.o.W style camps, then offered to find our room, honestly not one step was taken on the first floor without the creaking of floor boards, the room door opened to reveal a small room and a small ( double bed? - two single's put together ) bed, very dated decor, mid 80's, the room however was so hot from two radiatars it was sauna like. This was complemented by a side view of the sea, well I think it was the sea the windows where that dirty, but could certainly see and hear the Imperial next door all the way to four am, the nights sleep was abysmal. the dining room reminded me of an holiday camp, everyone assigned to " their" table - meals average.Very much an hotel aimed at the retirement home market,in house entertainment a man and his keyboard playing cheesy songs, bingo and grab a granny disco, this possibly explains the number of good reviews, because a lot of the guests do not vary their holidays, do not know any different and come back year after year, left at 9.30 am next day, i have stayed in a lot of Hotels - but this one sits top of the pile, a very poor hotel and a very miserable experience - oh by the way all for £129-00 - disgracefull just disgracefull !!!!

Room Tip: On arrival, first impressions dated decor, was then greeted by the receptionists who all I can say he...

what a great trip... we have returned home to cheshire from a great holiday and we are sad to be home!! the hotel was beautiful, grand entrance and reception recently renovated, sun lounges and bar lounges recently renovated and modern however with a friendly atmosphere. entertainment on every evening which is really enjoyable and the staff are lovely, especially the head receptionist! we stopped in the recently refurbished elizabeth suite, formerly known as the brimar suite! beatiful large room with own sunlounge etc. prices were so cheap which was amazing seeing as though the food was top notch, staff were brilliant and the hotel was fantastic. i cannot fault this hotel at all! found our special offer on the teletext and was a great price, we also asked for brochures in which they gave us ones for the doric hotel too which i believe may be the same owners so we are hoping to use their swimming pools, sauna steam room etc when we next visit the park house hotel.
