“overpriced”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2012

Just returned from a 2night stay at this hotel with my partner and 6year old child. I wouldnt recommend this hotel to familys as there is nothing to do, entertainment is pre world war war 2. I cant see why they can charge £140 for 2nights as the money clearly isn't put back into the hotel, decor is sore on the eyes, tv is well out of date (7 channels and only 5 worked) and the bathroom is something out of a 1970's musuem and the windows don't close properly.
Breakfast is a bit of a sham, not much variety and catered for the elderly(cant think of anyone who eats prunes for breakfast apart from oaps). You get a small glass of orange juice and you cant have orange juice if you have tea or coffee. I dont eat fried breakfasts and when I informed the waiter of this I was giving a dirty look like I was abnormal for not dining on this "fine, nutritious" breakfast.
I wouldnt stay at this hotel again, clearly targeted at the elderly and not young families. The hotel should advertise this alot better. Can't see this hotel lasting another decade if they dont try and broden their target group, the regulars sadly wont keep them in profit forever.

Room Tip: theres a hotel just down the road that has a swimming pool etc that would be better for familys and...

Just back from a very enjoyable stay at the Park House Hotel. As 3 couples of differing ages we found the Hotel catered well for all tastes with excellent food in the restaurant, the rooms were very spacious and the lounge and entertainment rooms were very comfortable having I believe recently undergone extensive refurbishment. We also found the sun terrace to be very popular with good views along the front. we also found the hotel to be close enough to the town centre without being in the middle of the noise and bussle. Would recommend and will certainly return

Just spent three nights at parkhouse and wasnt the family hotel I was led to believe. My daughter granddaughter and myself had a family room whch overlooked a car park and a back entrance, as it was warm we had the window open but constantly had the smoke from smokers wafting into our room. They knew that there was three in the room but their was only 2 sets of towels until our last evening then we had three. They did'nt replace the biscuits daily and the noise fron the cabaret was unbearable also the floorboards on the landing were very loose and made a lot of when people went to bed. There were only a few familys there the rest pensioners which the entertainment suited but nothing for children. The hotel was clean and the food was good and the staff very polite and friendly.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor not looking out to sea but a carpark and it was very noisy from the caber...

Stayed 3 nights from 20th july and had a wonderful break. Staff, food, rooms, and price were perfect. Entertainment every night - Saturday, Ben Bulishi; brilliant young tenor singer , Sunday, a singing keyboard player, and on the Monday we had a wonderful 3 piece band who catered for eveyone, called Pyramid. The entertainment hostess kept it all going so well also.
Went for a swim in the sister hotel (The Doric).
Handy for everything but not too close to be noisy.

I organised a group booking at the Park Hosue for the Old Time Dance Society. The hotel looked after our large group (153) very well. The staff friendly and helpfull, I had excellent communications with the hotel. We had to leave early each evening to Dance at Fleetwood the hotel had no problems serving us quickly and efficiently in one sitting. The food was very good and the hotel was clean and comfortable. I have received lots of good feedback from our members and would not hesitate to use the hotel again when we return to blackpool.

My wife and I spent 2 nights at the Park House Hotel in Blackpool whilst attending a show at the Grand Theatre. We found the reception staff very friendly and welcoming and we were given the keys to our room at 14:00hrs. The room itself was clean and was of an acceptable standard fot the price we paid. However the television was an old cathode ray tube type and there was no teletex and only 7 chanels to view, and some of them had very poor picture quality.
The bed was pehaps the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept in, and it appeared to be a very old interior sprung type matress.
The breakfast was restricted to either fruit juice OR fresh grapefruit OR cereal (not both as in most hotels) and then an option of full english breakfst or kippers or scrambled eggs on toast or poached eggs on toast. These were delivered on a small plate so it appeared that it was a large breakfast. Also toast and jam was served with either tea or coffee.
The food was tasty but the service left a lot to be desired.
All in all it was an average weekend but we will probably look elsewhere in future.

We arrived at the hotel at 10am, and went to reception to check it was ok to leave car in car park and check in later. Nothing was too much trouble and told we had been upgraded free of charge to a superior room as the hotel was busy..result!! We came back about 6pm to get our room key. Our room was lovely - it had 2 double beds and a fantastic sea view. Was immaculately clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good - and again, asked when we left whether we could leave our car to later in the day...and again was fine. Would definitely return to this hotel.
