Firstly i would like to know WHY people are moaning about so called bad experience as thats a load of rubbish!!

Secondly myself and my mam booked via groupon for mothers day treat we were seated in the bar after a short wait (ben is fab!) We were seated straight away and ordered our tea and told chef wont be long hes making up your order now

(VERY impressed at how speedy this was done)

As for the shop bought cakes i am a patisserie and confectionary chef and let me tell you theae are FAB petit fours are supposed to be small so people moaning is annoying -.- me and my mam cut the four in half so could sample each one :)

The scones are a decent size 6 sarnies as i call then each ( if you rinf when booking ben advised you can tell then can i get alternative to salmon if you dont like salmon) huge pot of clippers tea brilliant service from ben he is a credit to the hylton give him a pay rise!!!

Over all YES id book again YES its worth the money YES i was satisfied YES id reccomend it ans YES it is in top three afternoon teas i have had (2nd only to cafe in cockermouth)

Hylton hold on to ben he is the BEST waiter there!!!!

Ps left the hylton comfortable full so is enough for two!

Went to the Hilton for afternoon tea today with three friends, booked through Dealmonster. I was very glad we had not paid full price, in fact it wasn't even worth the half price we paid. We were in the lounge bar which had knee height tables - not very comfortable for eating. The whole place was soul-less and the food matched the atmosphere. The sandwiches were cheap sliced bread, half-filled with cheese and tomato, cucumber or salmon (or egg for the vegetarian option). One very small scone each with artificial cream which was not nice. Two small cakes each which were basically rubbery although I think they were meant to be some sort of mousse. Two large pots of tea with two very small teabags in each pot. The best thing about the afternoon was the company. If you want a decent afternoon tea, Toast in St Anne's was much better and we had a fabulous Christmas afternoon tea at Dahlia's Kitchen (Cropper Road, Blackpool) last December.

This bistro is incorporated with the Dutchman Hotel. We had been looking for a meal stop just after 4.30pm I saw on the outside menu what i fancied to eat with a kids eat free when adult purchases a Main Course meal, - cool we thought due to the budget we had left. Inside we went - nice n quiet we thought - only to be approached by a late teen early 20's waiter who said they weren't yet open. we had arrived just before the evening meal menu time but were allowed to sit in and wait the 10 or so minutes. At 5pm he came to take our order - obviously what id fancied was lunchtime meals - so did have alternative. Asked what the veg was he said carrots & brocilli I think - shall I go n check he came back with peas n sweet corn option :( and said they hadn't got potatoes only the crispy cube like chips - ok we said. but no veg on mine. lil miss asked what her drink options were as hers included a free drink n ice cream he had to think then told us. The restaurant area quickly filled up (reserved Hotel guest tables) rather noisy by then. Food cam with potatoes cubes n veg in a separate serving dish. Surprisingly it was very tasty. Lil miss had cheeseburger n chips had to ask though for sauce n vinegar. she also had chocolate ice cream. I had a mug of tea asked if sugar required and was given demorara (coffee sugar) :( Staff not up to my standards - needed more knowledge but food tasty - wouldn't in a hurry go there again - plenty more food outlets

Good hotel, perfect location all the key attractions are in 3miles. good connections to local transport. Tram station just opposite to the hotel gives excellent access to the attraction
little disappointed with the family room.
we are vegetarian so requested restaurant to arrange for us, they cooked excellent Chickpea and spinach curry with Nan and papodum.
