It's a long time since I visited Blackpool and a lot has change most not so good. In fairness the main drag has been redone and it's lovely but overall the place has gone downhill, it just appears cheap and cheerful but it's not cheap. I was going to visit the pleasure beach but could not believe the prices, it made Florida look great value and anyone with children will need a lot of cash as the use amusements are expensive.

The new comedy floor is great, a really welcome addition and it's no doubt that the front is a lot better than it was before.

It just needs more regular cleaning, it's covered it bird muck and litter.

I know we have austerity measures but it will put people off.

Stuck in a time warp? Run down but nostalgic. Got a lovely icecream
And fed the cone to the seagulls. Really needs a spruce up.

I just want to comment on the promenade alone.
It consists of about 10-12 miles of uncluttered, even, wide, well laid, beautiful and uncluttered pavement which allows strolling or cycling along virtually it's whole length.
As far as I am concerned it allows one to meander, untroubled by road crossings, tram lines or any such interruption, from Fleetwood in the north, down through central Blackpool (yuk) to Lytham-St.Annes. You can amaze yourself at all those daft people who have paid, yes PAID, to go into the area of the Pleasure Beach. Wonder at the emptiness of the various rides therein, ponder at the stupidity of the managers who dare to charge for this and laugh as you drift past, free as a bird watching people getting cut off by the tide and then panicking!
