“Ideal hotel”
Reviewed 16 June 2012

Stayed here for a wedding and was very happy with the wedding reception, the food, the staff and the evening do, which included bacon sandwiches, a selection of other sandwiches and chips. Seems to be the new supper at weddings and went down well. The room was very modern clean and well equipped and bathroom even though small was still adequate, new and modern. The lift was an asset.
There is a small car park which was very handy because by the time we arrived all the street parking had been taken. Breakfast which is a buffet was also very good. Now after all the positive I have only two gripes, in our room (327) there was an unidentified noise, something like an extractor fan on 24/7. The other gripe was the broken toilet seat, which could have been fixed much easier than the annoying noise. The hotel was far better than the appearance from the outside, so I would recommend it to a friend.

This is quite a smart hotel. The receptionist staff where welcoming and really helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and appeared to be recently refurbished, although it had an old style telly (not a flat screen). The food was also pretty good for hotel style food, although the rose wine was not nice and therefore was left. Again the restaurant staff where very good. The one big let down, was the bed. We have slept in many hotels, and the mattress had to be the lumpiest most uncomfortable, we have slept on (sorry not slept on). In summary, a good hotel but let down by the poor quality mattress.

This is probably 5th or 6th time I have used this hotel when visiting very elderly Mum. Have tried others in this area and they have ranged from dire to 'almost as good'. Reception staff excellent, friendly and efficient. My room was clean, comfortable and a decent size. Shower excellent and plenty of towels. Very good hair drier. Used room service in the evenings as too tired to do much else. Good choice from menu and tasted nice. Red wine on 2nd night was lovely - maybe receptionist thought I needed spoiling(she was right!) breakfast was buffet style (but when hotel not full, it is waiter service) with good choices. All staff are friendly and helpful and as a single traveller I was looked after very well. My room overlooked sea yes, there was a bit of traffic noise but I had window open, it soon lulled me to sleep. Bit of corridor noise from a few guests but not enough to cause any problems reception for mobile not good but on plus side I got some peace! Would I stay again, yes I would.

Room Tip: Ignore last two points re pool/fitness as they have neither but I tapped them in error on Ipad and c...

Stayed one night and found the hotel to be way too far out for the short time we were there but that was own fault for not checking the location fully. Staff were really helpful with bus and tram times into the town but considering they must be asked for timetables on a regular basis, we were given incorrect information on evening trams. Overall, the recent refurb is excellent as was the superb breakfast. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the evening meal which we paid extra for. Couldn't quite believe that they had a choice of 'fruit juice' - apple or orange as a starter option!! Main meal was bland and was really not worth the set menu price and nothing in comparison to the sample menu. Apart from this, it really was a good, clean and pleasant hotel to stay in.

Although the hotel was in a good location for Blackpool and had parking it was a little far for those who would not be comfortable walking to Blackpool. I found the hotel looked very dated indeed. It was however very clean and staff were really great. Mattress was a little old and could have been firmer but was acceptable. Staff had activites organised if we wanted to stay in the evenings at the hotel and was family orientated. I could easily get to my car without any fuss.

Room Tip: If you find the mattress is not to your liking do ask for it to be changed.

I know it was only a one night stay but these visits sometimes help you decide whether you will return or not, and I have to say that we would most definately return to this hotel. The hotels location was ideal for my family as we had an early rise next morning for my son's football tournament, there was a wedding function on the Saturday evening but noise was minimal. The hotel was very clean with modern decor and furnishings and the same goes for our room. (family room with double bed and bunks) bathroom was spotless and modern and the shower was superb. As for the food we just did B&B but the there was plenty of choice for Breakfast which was served buffet style. So all in all we had a very pleasant stay which was excellent value for the standard of accomodation Thank You.

We have just returned from a 2 day break when we stayed at this hotel. It is located just over 2 miles from Blackpool Tower which suited us. We have only good comments to make. Our check-in was speedy and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. Our room was spotless and our view to the sea was excellent. Can recommend this hotel if you want to be away from the buzz of the town but still within walking distance but, of course, you can always use the trams. They ran a very frequent service.

All in all a very relaxing break away.
