Stayed last week for 5 nights with my teenage daughter and her friend, we were part of a coach tour. I have stayed in the Carousel in the past and have always been happy as the hotel is clean and near the Pleasure Beach which is the main reason we go to Blackpool.

On arrival this time though we were directed to a family room, it was on the first floor (room 115, avoid this room!) it was small, dark and cramped, with a double bed and bunk beds and as for the bathroom we could not even fit into the shower, well move in it anyway!!!! We are not overweight either just normal size!

We were exhausted from our trip so we just unpacked and after dinner went to bed, well the two girls didn't fit into the bunk beds they're legs were dangling out and all night long all we could hear was what was happening downstairs and a cabaret singer singing at the top of her voice a nightmare.

Next morning I went down to complain and found the staff excellent, they promptly moved us into two separate rooms, next door to each other and on the next floor so we didn,t have to listen to the entertainment whilst trying to sleep.

I have to say that the staff in this hotel were great, especially Amy, and the staff who were working on the night I arrived and lent me a phone charger and also the lady who changed our rooms.

The hotel was clean. Food was fine, just standard cooked breakfast and cereals, dinner was ok, although if you are on a coach trip like I was expect delays as I do not think that the staff can cope with large groups in the restaurant.

All in all, good hotel, clean, great staff, 15 minute walk to the pleasure beach and a tram stop and bus stop right across the road.

Room Tip: Do not choose the first floor if you can, especially the bit above the entertainment! Do not choose/take/consider room 115.

We booked this as an add on to a holiday we were to take in The Lake District, like everyone else, you read reviews and go straight to the negatives, after consideration of those and reading the family good ones, we booked the last family room with a sea view. Check in was efficient, don't worry about the parking as althought the hotel has a car park to rear, it's better to park at the front and free! My 7 and 5 year olds got into the room and loved it, they had bunk beds in good condition and the room was clean and made up, albeit very small, but that said you don't go to Blackpool to sit in your room.. The tram to down town Blackpool is across the road and for £9 for the family per day your free to roam as much as you like, again great for the children.
The hotel said it put on shows at night and bits for the children, well, how we underestimated that, the evening entertainment from about 7 pm was all for the children untill at least 9 ish pm, it was fantastic, especially Ben I think his name was who held there attention with great games and a quiz and even children's bingo. That young man will be going places for sure!!!
Breakfast at the hotel was very good and buffet style.
Only comments for the Hotel, on the first night I locked the safe and couldn't use it, when I went to reception they said they would get it opened the next morning as only certain people had access, which is fair enough but no one appeared the following day to open it, and as we lay in bed on the first morning at 8.15am a man was using a ladder right outside our window and not very quiet at all, I felt that could have been postponed until say 9am.
Overall, I've just been on line to book our next trip to Blackpool and this is the only hotel I will consider, and I'm a bit fussy like that!!
Enjoy....

Room Tip: The sea views were lovely...

We like everyone else were scared to book a hotel in Blackpool, but after reading various reviews, were highly delighted with the Carousel. it was clean, we had a sea view, and the kids had bunk beds, so everyone was happy, breakfast was good, and due to the tiredness after walking about Blackpool, we never went to the bar area, so cannot comment on that. All in all a great choice when looking for a hotel in Blackpool.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view when booking, and bunk beds for kids, it all adds to the fun

This was the choice of friends of ours - they booked it. This was exceptionally clean and very good value. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, but near enough to not feel out of it, it is a good location for families and couples. The beds are firm and comfortable. The breakfast is excellent and they have a good bar selcetion of food which is very cheap but very plain in delivery. The dining room is rather spartan and could be a little better in presentation. But all in all very good value.

when my family t to the carousel last year we loved it even thought the hotel was like a maze to find our room, the good thing about the hotel is when going for breakfast you get taken to your table by a waiter and self serve your self for breakfast, they even have a pub were food is served all day for guest and the entertaiment is performed every night. I would decently go back there this year and following years.

Room Tip: only 10 minutes from pleasure beach
