“Not your average blackpool hotel”

Stayed here for one night with 2 children the hotel from the front looked lovely went to park around the back which looked awful, almost like a different place. Arrived inside the hotel and it was very nice we checked in very quickly and got to our room, which was also very spacious and modern.
There are only 2 problems I had
Cups were dirty in the room
The room was too hot
Window does open but there didn't seem to be any breeze which is not the hotels fault.
The breakfast was nice.
Would stay again

Having stayed at all the sleepwell hotels many times and quite often a the Carousel , i was very much looking forward to staying again but i was in for a shock. I booked DB&B which up to july 14 is advertised as Restaurant 21 fantastic food gourmet dinner. Well it used to be with 3 starters, 3 main and 3 sweets different each day. Now its a standard menu with items like haddock and chips scampi and chips ,potato skins, etc. Its now a cafe bar with sofas in between tables really run of the mill. Little thought has gone into it and now its just the same as anywhere else. The reason for staying there was due to the very different thoughtful menu. So i have to say it just the same as elsewhere, its lost that special something, which was so important and why i told my friends to stay there too. Lack of thought, very sad experience a shadow of its former self.Clean and tidy pleasant staff but so it should be really.

Room Tip: Try to get sea view but not over function room

We stayed at the carousel with my 9 yr old son and 10yr old niece overnight. The family room was a double with bunks, clean and comfy beds, the bathroom was basic but again clean and supplied with shampoo, shower gel and lotion. Plenty of towels provided in the room; with enough tea, coffee, chocolate and biscuits for us all to have a hot drink at bedtime and in the morning. The breakfast was a hot serve yourself buffet style arrangement; simple no fuss, with a selection of cereal for the little ones. I ordered poached eggs and these were delivered with a smile and without complaint. We will stay again, it's on the front in the quieter part of Blackpool and norther the staff nor residents complained about the children being children!!

Stayed here while on business in Blackpool, forget about having a good nights sleep, guests and their children running up and down the corridor screaming and shouting til the early hours of the morning, staff need a personality injection, food is disgusting, drink prices are way too expensive, will never darken their door again

My husband and I stayed here on the May bank holiday where we met up with our children and grandchildren. This hotel is situated at the south end of the Blackpool, within easy walking distance to the Pleasure Beach. It is ideal for families with children and well priced with family rooms available. We all found it to be very comfortable and the breakfast is excellent. The children were made to feel very welcome and had a great time in the bar area where we played pool until late. I would definitely recommend this hotel to families and we will return if we meet up again here next year.My only criticism was that room 120 can be noisy due to the fans which are just outside the window..so avoid that one if you can.

Room Tip: Avoid Room 120 which is noisy due to A/C unit or fans

I booked this hotel via booking.com,£70.00 for a family room over bank holiday weekend which I thought was a pretty good deal. For this price I was happy with what we received, however, had I paid anymore my review might have been a little less benevolent.
Check in was a very slow process, the Receptionist whilst friendly and helpful was not very professional. She seemed unsure of what she was doing and obtaining keys to our room took a very long time. When we finally got to our room, we had been in it no longer than five minutes when the Receptionist knocked on the door and told us she had checked us into the wrong room! I couldn't see what was wrong with this room as it suited our requests just fine, however she was quite insistant that we should move. I would say that when asking guests to move rooms it might be prudent to actually bring keys rather than leave people in corridors with baggage whilst running back and forth to reception.
Our room, when we got to it, was very very clean and pleasant. Shower small though, difficult to use if you don't want to get your hair wet but this was a minor niggle.
There was a singer on in the bar until 10.30pm which was incredibly noisy in the room. My 5year old was unable to sleep at all due to the horrendous, unacceptable racket.
Breakfast was fine but certainly not great. Hot items of ok-ish quality, but very little in the way of continental items. Some fresh fruit and pastries wouldn't have gone amiss. Toast made in kitchen then left under hot lights resulting in horrid, half crispy, half soggy bread. Either put the toaster out front and let the guests make it themselves, or get the waiting staff to do it to order with Tea and Coffee. Breakfast waiting staff very efficient and polite. Nothing too much trouble.
One final point, it might be prudent to get staff to wear name badges or a uniform of some description. A gentleman came to our door, claiming to be from maintenance, to enquire about a leaking shower early in the morning. He could have been absolutely anyone trying to get in our room which is a little disconcerting when you have small children.
All in all, it was ok for one night and it has to be said, the cleanliness of the place was excellent.

Dear valued guest, may we thank you for your visit and review of the Carousel, in particular your nice words about our staff. We are, though, sorry to hear that some parts of your stay were not up to you personal standard. We appreciate very much and take on board all of your feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back on any future visits to Blackpool. Many thanks and kind regards,

My husband, 7 yr old daughter and my friends 10yr old daughter stayed in The Carousel for 3 nights and we had a brilliant stay! The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful at all times! The rooms were spotless and the family room was very roomy and the beds extremely comfortable! There was a buffet breakfast with plenty of choice and fresh hot food. We ate at the restaurant and they did an amazing deal, 3 courses each with a bottle of wine for £30. The food was top class with large portions. This is the furthest South we have stayed from the centre of Blackpool but we made full use of a family ticket on the trams, which the kids loved! There was good entertainment each night and the girls made lots of friends. Will definitely stay here again!
