My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights over last Friday and Saturday. We found it to be nice hotel with pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. I think it’s in a good location, being far away from the hustle and bustle of Blackpool town centre and main attractions, but near enough to get there by bus or tram. We found a free parking space near the hotel and used the tram to get into the town centre over the 2 day period we were there. It’s always a good idea to get the daily, 3 day or 7 day saver ticket for the tram or bus, depending how long you are there. We paid £3.50 per person for the day ticket which allowed us unlimited tram or bus ride for that day. It’s best to get this ticket from the main office for Blackpool Transport on Rigby Road as it’s a pound extra if you buy it on the tram or the bus. We collected our ticket before we found our parking space near the hotel. You can get the full information on tram/bus tickets on the Blackpool Transport Website. The tram stop (Harrow Place) is more or less opposite the hotel.

Booking time at the hotel is at 3pm but we were allowed in at 2.30pm which was very helpful to us. If the room is ready they will allow you to do this. As the weather was hot we expected to be very uncomfortable in the room and I made my views on this known to the receptionist. In response she offered us a fan to use whilst we were there. We were very grateful of this as we would have suffered with the heat otherwise. The hotel room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. We were happy with the accommodation we had but we did have a problem sleeping on Saturday night/Sunday morning because of some equipment noise we heard every so often which woke us up.

We were located on the second floor at the rear of the hotel and we did notice some equipment noise the first night we were there. Not sure what it was but it did stop at about midnight so it did not disturbed our sleep that night. On the second night it continued on and off overnight so we hardly had any sleep at all. The noise was like loud humming/knocking and at times made some vibrations in the room. It lasted for about 30 seconds or so before switching off. It would then start and stop again at various times overnight. It may have been something to do with the plumbing or air conditioning but I’m not sure. Sometimes you can hear other rooms running a showers etc in hotels but if this was the cause we have never heard it this loud anywhere else. I did briefly mention it to a member of staff on our first night but she was unaware of any problems like this. As we were not disturbed on the first night we did not pursue it any further and thought it was something that stopped at bedtime. Unfortunately on our second night it did not stop.

I found the breakfast at the hotel to be very good for me, as I always enjoy a good English breakfast. Plenty of choice in this respect. However, my wife likes a continental breakfast and the choices in this respect was very limited, with a little fruit, jam and yogurt. No bread or rolls apart from toast and nothing else which we would class as continental.

The only other thing that was a disappointment to us at the hotel was the poor Wi-Fi signal. This was more or less none existent in our hotel room and was very limited in most public areas of the hotel.

Despite us having the above problems/disappointment my wife and I would happily stay at this hotel again. It is a nice hotel with comfortable rooms and friendly helpful staff. Hopefully we would get a room away from the noise we experienced on this occasion. In our opinion it is a good value for money hotel.

A last minute booking which proved to be a really good choice - thanks to Trip Advisor reviews. Very good value, air conditioning in all public rooms, fan provided in bedroom on request. Refurbished to high standard. Friendly, professional and very helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble. A nice quiet location but within easy reach of central Blackpool via the tramline - stop near to hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view.

, We used the Carousel again for 1 night following a theatre visit. Again this hotel was excellent, at a great price. Everyone, from reception to the bar staff and waiters, was so pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good with a varied choice, the room was clean with everything we needed. Thanks again to the management and staff.

We have just stayed at the above property situated on the south shore at Blackpool on the promenade, slightly removed from the noise and brashness of the resort.Having said that it is only a 5 minute walk to the pleasure beach and around 10 minutes to the south pier.Bus and tram stops in close proximity to the hotel to quickly move about. The hotel appears recently re-furbished both in the lounge, restaurant areas.Bedroom recently upgraded, comprising a double bed and sofa bed ,small but functional bathroom.Everything spotlessly clean.A good 3 star property

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room overlooking the promenade, which provides a nice view with quietness.
