“spacious yet cosy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 September 2009

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the room was well layed out and the view was lovely. Parking wasn't great as just outside the hotel and very narrow - but atleast it was free and not miles away.

We only ate breakfast - self service but plenty of choice and more if needed.

We have stayed in a couple of the other hotels in the group and have enjoyed them all.

Good: Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, shower fine, quiet enough, free internet.
Medium: room size. Parking can be a problem - but free.
Bad: our double bed (queen size) had an old and battered mattress which springs were retaliating at one through the night. ....
When reported to reception, there was no expression of surprise, and gradual replacement of mattresses is allegedly underway. - just ask for a room with new mattress then !

This hotel was very clean and efficiently run the staff were very friendy the food was presented very nicely ! when we went to a show at the north pier the staff allowed us to have our meal 30 mins earlier which was great !! the only minor downside to this hotel was that the dining room was smallish which could be a hassel when the hotel is busy but apart from that everything was great !

We are surprised by these comments as overall our cleanliness ratings are consistently extremely high so we will be making additional checks on our housekeeping prior to arrival.

returned last week from carousel. what a lovely hotel, food was great, buffet style breakfast all you can eat in the morning! recommend the evening meal, gourmet three course every evening! and it was superb! worth every penny. staff were friendly, a special mention to the night porters, especially Phil, who were very accomodating. Location was fairly quiet, which suited us, regular trams just outside the hotel to get you in to the centre of the town, unless you like a long walk! definitely would return to the carousel.

brilliant hotel, fantastic service, polite friendly staff, and the gourmet food was just fantastic, and the service in the dinning room was faultless all thanks to Gemma who seemed to be in complete control, and even though we had a late deal we would be more than happy to return and pay full price it was a WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE (well done)
