“Great Hotel by the Unsworths Hindley Green”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

We found this hotel on Trip Advisor as we were so sick of going to crumby Hotels in Blackpool, and boy was everyone right. From the minute we entered the hotel we had a good feeling about it. We were greater by a friendly gentleman and showed to our room which was a sea fronted room. It was our wedding Anniversary which I already told them when I booked. I emailed the hotel before I booked to ask a few questions and straight away they replied very politely which impressed me before I got there. The room was lovely very clean nice decor and fit in withe hotels age. There was a kettle with tea and coffee and the bathroom was spotless. We came down for a drink in the bar and 2 of the owners came to speak to us and wouldn't take payment for our drinks for our Anniversary which I thought was lovely and shows what kind of people they are, I got so cosy in the sitting room chatting I could have stayed there all night. The breakfast was the best we have had. Fresh percolated coffee, little boxes of famous cereals, fresh fruit all cut up with yoghurt, not tinned I might add. Fresh white n brown toast and a lovely hot breakfast which haven't been stood or in a vat a tally fresh from the kitchen everything fresh not tinned. We were well impressed and the price was great too £60 per couple where can u get such a high standard for that kind of money. We will defo go back and soon. It's ideal for a few days get away just what the doctor ordered. Congratulations Maples you get 100 percent from Joe n Di

Reasonably priced, comfortable with nice decor, the Maples is a lovely hotel with good sized rooms and an excellent level of customer service - our broken shower was fixed within 10 minutes. Excellent breakfast included in the price.

I'd stay here again.

Just arrived back from Maples and we found the hotel and it's hosts very welcoming. It has to have THE best breakfast in Blackpool. It is well cooked and tasty. It's also massive !! The breakfast table is awash with lots of different fruits, yogurt, drinks and cereals. Absolutely worth every penny.
There is a lovely Irish bloke, (sorry we didn't catch your name)who looked after us and is very friendly. We couldn't of asked for more . All round great little gem away from the hustle and bustle of the town center.( only a 5 stop tram ride away from town, and tram stops literally across the road from the hotel)
All in all, a great hotel and we would certainly book again the next time we come to Blackpool.

Hi and thanks so much for a great review. Breakfast is the main meal of the day and the variety we offer reflects, we hope, the varying tastes of different peoples needs. Hope to see you again sometime (by the way my name also is Dave) Once again many thanks

Mapels is in a great part of Blackpool (North Blackpool) away from the mad, loud, colourful, brash parts of Blackpool but not so far away that you feel isolated from whats going on. You can walk from the train station but it might be better with a taxi. The hotel does have parking but spaces are limited. The hotel is clean, tidy and well kept with a warm welcome when we checked in. The bedroom was suitably furnished and very very clean, had a sea view and a colour tv, a compact bathroom big enough for what you need. The hotel has a really nice lounge area downstairs, small bar, and the lounge looks out across at the sea, road and walkway. Breakfast is has continental style fresh pastries, fruit, yoghurt, cereal and also offer a full cooked english breakfast with the usual tea, coffee, toast, fruit juices etc. More than you could eat really, cannot complain regarding the food and drink, it was excellent. Check out was easy enough and they had the details from the internet booking site. Happy to return to the hotel and probably will later on in the year. However, I originally booked through booking.com and ever since making the booking through them ive been spammed with emails every day which has been a real pain, never again. Try booking direct with the hotel to avoid the spam mail shots from booking.com

Room Tip: Try the room with a sea view go for a top floor looking out across the sea.

Just returned home from a two night stay at Maples, having chosen it by previous very positive reviews and have to say we were not disappointed. We stayed in room 12 which had modern decor, a lovely sea view, great shower and the most comfortable bed..! Breakfast was amazing with a choice of cereals, muesli's, fresh fruits, yoghurts, various fruit juices etc etc and then the cooked one..! The hospitality surpassed my expectations - it was almost like staying at a friends house than a hotel such was the friendliness of both David and Ted. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay here.

Room Tip: You can lie in bed and watch the sea (when the tide is in of course) from room 12 - lovely
