The President Hotel

Reviewed 22 February 2014

We stayed at the New President for three nights half board as part of a package with National Holidays. Despite terrible weather, we had a warm welcome with complimentary tea and coffee whilst our rooms were being prepared. My husband and I were given a family room with one double bed and a set of bunk beds. It was a corner room on the third floor and we could see the Tower from our window as well as the seafront. The bedding and towels were spotless but there were no toiletries in the bathroom. (Remember to bring your own). The hotel is ideally located for the beach and there are both bus and tram stops directly outside the door. For a fee of £10, we could purchase a Hilton leisure card which enabled us to use the gym and swimming pool at the Hilton which is just a coupe of Hotels away. We took advantage of this offer as the weather was so bad that we were limited with outdoor activities. The £10 was refunded to us when we returned the card to reception. Tea and coffee facilities were provided in each room and lighting was good which we have found to be unusual in hotels these days. Wi fi was also available. The meals were well prepared and filling. We could not fault the service either as all requests were swiftly dealt with in a pleasant manner. Nothing was too much trouble for the hard-working staff. As we were meeting up with family in the evenings, we did not see any of the entertainment provided but we were told it was very good. We would definitely return to this hotel is in Blackpool again. Obviously, you get what you pay for but our room had been recently decorated and although the bathroom was a little shabby, it did the job. Keep up the good work!

Room Tip: Our family room was very spacious and had a sea view. It was a corner room on the third floor.

My wife and myself had a short break here 3rd Feb. to 7th Feb. 2014. The reception we got on arrival was second to none. We were shown to the Bar where coffee and tea was laid on.(free of charge) while we waited for our rooms to be ready. The meals were top class, as were the staff in the resteraunt. The entertainment was great ,the Bar staff very helpful and pleasant. All in all we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend it.

the hotel is very good, food excellent, entertainment top class but the comfort of clients is not good.mrs walsh needs to get new boiler in quick .we really enjoyed our country and western weekend food good, entertainment excellant but was spoilt by a freezing bedroom no hot water and water coming through bathroom ceiling above the shower.. unless we can be guaranteed a warm room with hot water, we will not be coming again and our 3 years of coming there has been spoilt by the last stay.
