Cheers Shaun and Donna! I'm assuming the breakfast in the next two B&B's you stayed in Blackpool weren't as good!! (Mention no names!). Looking forward to seeing Sandra and Colin in August. Big Al's 6oz flame grilled burgers are a huge success with our guests and we're happy to serve them any time we're around.

Cheers Terry and Kathy, loved having you stay and hearing the tales from your days in the pub trade in my home town of Liverpool. Hope to see you again soon, Simon
P.S. Gammon steak is a winner, fresh from Nigel Wilkinson, the local butcher. (approx 16oz)!!!!

I booked to stay at the new guilderoy hotel based on the reviews I had read andf its didn't dissapoint. The owners are so friendly, polite and will bend over backwards to make sure you have a pleasent stay. The breakfast in the morning is by far the best breakfast I have had at any hotel I have ever stayed at! Next time I'm in Blackpool this is the only hotel I would consider staying at again.

If you are coming by car then my suggestion would be to come via Fleetwood. A very friendly & homely couple are Simon& Rhona. Simons breakfasts are to die for, plus all the other stuff. to make it last nearly all day. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody. For us it was a home from home.

Thanks for taking the time to write the review. Great to hear that you enjoyed your stay so much after having difficulty finding us. The best way to reach us at the moment is to exit the M55 when you see the North Shore sign, follow the dual carriageway till you see the signs for North Shore sending you right along Whitegate Drive and then into Devonshire Road. After you go under the railway and pass the Devonshire Arms, turn left at the roundabout and the road will lead you down to Gynn Square (roundabout), Holmfield Road is on the right and we're at the top of the hill.

We had the best weekend ever at the Guilderoy Hotel in this country,as we have stayed in many hotels all over the world.
Simon and Rhona are the best hosts you can ever imagine, their food is wonderful,(my partner is a very fussy eater,he eat loads). The ensuit room was clean and comfortable.
The decor throughout the hotel is tasteful and exotic(a very far east influence).
Five minutes from the beach, nice quiet area.
We will definately be going back this year again.
P.S. We love Bruno, the pet dog.xxx

Thanks Neville, it was a great weekend, Bruno misses you both. BTW for other guests, most of them don't know we have a dog as Rhona bathes him with nice shampoo every couple of days so there's no smell, and he isn't allowed out in case some guests or their children don't like dogs. However, if you love animals and are in the bar late on, provided the other guests agree, ask for Bruno and he will come out and show you his tricks, including his infamous "high five" whilst sitting on a bar stool. You can read the children's reviews of the dog in our guest book by the doorway...."we love Bruno". Thanks again, Neville, and hope all goes well with your plans and we'll certainly give you both a call when we go down to London.

I was staying here in a family group and myself and my brother and sister had a family room (Room 15). The room was great for our 4 night stay, with one double bed and one set of bunk beds and there was more than enough room for the 3 of us getting around. Free wi-fi in the bedrooms was a big bonus for my brother who had his laptop with him. The towels were changed and our beds were made every day which was good. The only criticism I would have about the room is that there was no lock on the toilet door. Obviously it isn't a problem as you can just tell people you are there, but the door has a tendency to open out by a couple of inches if there happens to be a draft coming through the windows or the main bedroom door is opened. This did not cause any embarrassing incidents for us though but may do if the door opens at the wrong moment!

Simon and Rhona were both lovely and had lots of knowledge about what to see and do around Blackpool and recommended really good restaurants. They were both very friendly and go out of their way to make guests feel comfortable. The breakfasts they cooked were fantastic and there were plenty options available if you just wanted to eat something light.

The hotel was in walking distance of lots of restaurants and only a couple of minutes away from the promenade/beach. For going into the centre of Blackpool or to the Pleasure Beach we used taxis which were reasonable, though with the roadworks happening along the front (until July) they took a longer route- not sure how much more expensive though.

All in all, would thoroughly recommend staying here, I can't imagine getting a better welcome anywhere else!

It was great to have you guys here, you were such a lovely family. Thanks for the comment about the door, I fixed it straight away. Anyone who has stayed in room 15 in the last few weeks will be able to confirm that the bathroom door has a nice new shiny lock on. Hope to see you all next year, Simon.

Excellent hotel. Simon and Rhona are excellent hosts and go out of their way to do anything for their guests which is a pleasant surprise in this day and age. Rooms wonderfully laid out and the meals are out of this world, superb. I would definitely recommend the bed and breakfast and evening meal option. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Blackpool. Best hotel in Blackpool. My little ones Gabrielle and Catreena loved their friendly dog Bruno too. Can't wait to go back.

Thanks for your lovely review, so sorry to hear that Catreena has broken her arm and can't come back this week. We'll see you later in the summer. Bruno sends his kisses and Rhona sends her regards, Simon
