Me and a group of my friends stayed at the Berwyn Hotel in November as part of a psychic weekend.... We were actually out booked to the Berwyn.... Which made the whole weekend!!!! Derek and his family were very hospitable from the moment we arrived.... Nothing was to much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome. The rooms were clean and tidy and a good size.... Staff were all friendly...... And breakfast was lovely too!!!!
Me and all my friends enjoyed our time greatly at the Berwyn and would recommend to all!!!! Make sure you ask Derek to make you a Mini Guinness... They're his speciality!!!!
If ever returning to Blackpool I would not hesitate to book the Berwyn Hotel again!!!!!

Stayed at this hotel 2nd November to 4th November 2012

After just returning home I felt compelled to write this review immediately.
Our stay here was perfect. We were left to our own devices but we knew that should we need anything then it would be on hand as this hotel came highly recommended to us. We were given a front door key should the occasion arise that we should need it, which we did on both nights (theres life in the old dogs yet). Our room was lovely and "cosy" with central heating that could be lowered or highered depending on our needs. We tended to turn down the heating whilst we were out of the room (doing our bit for the environment and the hotels energy bills) as it only took around 10 minutes to warm up once we returned. The bed was very comfortable indeed and also the pillows (was going to look at the pillow labels to buy some for ourselves but forgot). The bathroom was spotlessly clean with lovely white towels and a heated towel rail (which makes all the difference to have a lovely warm towel). The shower itself was one of the best we have had in hotels as usually the water pressure leaves something to be desired, but not here, it was very powerful.
Breakfast was excellent, with a choice of fruit juice, tea, coffee, grapefruit segments, selection of cereals, full english breakfast and unlimited toast should you require it. The hotel had quite a large bar also with plenty of seating. Parking was available directly outside the front door and even this made our stay more enjoyable as we were not having to move our car every two minutes. The hotel is situated about a 15 minute stroll to the tower, but again, that depends how fast you walk. We shall definitely be staying here again.

Oh nearly forgot to mention, we had a spectacular sea view.

This was our second visit this year. Thank you Derek for making our stay a pleasant one. Lovely breakfasts and staff very helpful. In a very quiet area with bus and trams just a stone throw away. Looking forward to our third visit.

First of all I will say that there was absolutely no fault i could point out towards the staff in this hotel/BnB as they were all friendly, however this hotel (sorry to say) just didn't suit us. We got placed here as we weren't able to stop at Brayton Hotel across the road due to an issue in the room we would have stayed at. This obviously wasn't anyone's fault really, but it was a shame that we couldn't have felt more happier at being placed here.

The first annoyance I found in this hotel was the cramped feel inside. Admittedly this is only a small hotel and therefore didn't expect something huge, but it seemed a difficulty carrying our baggage up the stairway being as it was quite steep and not very wide. Shamly this was the only way to carry the baggage to the room.

The second problem for us was the extremely small bathroom. Again we weren't expecting anything massive, but this was just completely cramped. It was so difficult to shower due to the size of the shower. The water didn't stay hot for more than a minute! The pictures of the hotel on the website didn't match the same as what's in person in my opinion, it was quite disappointing. The hotel room was OK, but again not quite the size we expected.

On a positive note, the breakfast was nice and the bed was very comfortable and there's the added feature of having the DVD player built in the television. If you're like myself though and like that bit of space in a hotel room and bathroom and the hotel in general, then this probably isn't for you. I'd probably say this hotel is more for older people that want that peace and quiet and nothing too big, unfortunately this just didn't do it for us.

Also like to add that we'd stay more nearer to the tower and attractions area next time being as this seems more residential area.

Stayed at the Berwyn Hotel in Blackpool for 2 nights in Seprember 2012, The room was clean and comfortable, The Host was friendly and the breakfast was very good. I would say that it was very good value for the money and I wood stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 14 and our friends in room 13 and we both had a sea view
