The Berwyn is a great place to stay for a short break or longer holiday. The rooms are clean and well decorated. We always receive a warm welcome from Derek and Barbara, their staff seem to be the same and i think that's a good sign of a happy work place. Located in Gynn square it's near enough to walk into the centre, or use the bus which is very near. The food is very good, I would recomend a visit to this hotel, we have just booked to return for the fifth year, hopefully Derek and Barbara will not be retiring in the near future. June.

We stayed one night at the Berwyn. Great location - just outside the centre of Blackpool so not too noisy at night and only 2 mins walk from a tram stop so really easy to get into town and to the Pleasure Beach. The hotel is spotless and the staff are extremely friendly & welcoming. Great breakfast too! If you're looking for a cheap and cheerful place to stay in Blackpool then this one comes highly recommended.

Stayed here for 1 night and really enjoyed it. Staff were were great especially our waitress at dinner and the slightly crazy manager! Food was good and rooms were very clean and I had a nice view overlooking the gardens and sea. Hotel is in a nice spot with tram and bus stops on the promenade in front of the hotel. Loads to do in Blackpool just needed more time!

We stayed for 1 night in Aug 08 and had a fantastic time. The hotel is in a lovely location, quite a walk from the main attractions but easy on the tram. We had a room on the front with a sea view and it was spotless. The shower was hot and powerful and the beds really comfortable.
We were welcomed by Derek, the hotel owner, who was helpful and very entertaining - we had a drink in the bar before going out and I haven't laughed so much in ages.
Breakfast was very good, well cooked and good quality. We would have no hesitation at all in staying again. It's a really lovely hotel and I have no critisisms at all. Thank you.

We went to the hotel for the new year celebrations, we were treated extremely well food was good simple fare, room was clean and more than adequate.
The entertainment which was laid on was just right for the people who stayed.
We have read the other reviews on this site and feel they are a little harsh.
We have booked for this year ( 2007)

we stayed here fora 2 night break for the illuminations and were very dissapointed. the room we were given was tiny, and had really nasty decor and overlooked a backyard. it was just awful.

water came in through the roof in the room , breakfast was average but it just wasnt a nice stay.

the only reedeming feature of this hotel is its location on the north shore which is the nicer area of blackpool, but dont stay here, you can get a much nicer hotel.

We had a great time with super location and brilliant food. It's worth a stay if only to experiance the excellent staff with such a great sense of humour. You'll love it. Will be back in 2006
