“"Super, friendly, welcoming hotel"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2013

Just back from an excellent week in Blackpool. Stayed in the Da Ville hotel excellent location, five minutes from central attractions. Colin and Shirley are the most genuine people you will meet, nothing is too much hassle for them. The hotel rooms are lovely, fresh and clean, just perfect for a home away from home holiday. The breakfasts are delicious, freshly made each morning and are a great way to set you up for the day ahead. My girls fell in love with their little dogs who also are so friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel for price, location, friendliness of owners and cleanliness to all, you won't find better. My family and I will be staying again in the not so distant future.

Just got back from a weekend in Blackpool staying at the Da Ville Hotel, 10 of my family & myself. I have never stayed in such a friendly hotel. Colin & Shirley were so friendly and welcoming. After sitting for over an hour in traffic we arrived at the hotel to be greeted by Colin whose main priority was to make us a cup of tea or coffee, never before have we been greeted by someone so friendly. Colin greeted each of us individually asking our names & even managed to remember most of them. Nothing was a bother to them, breakfast was absolutely beautiful, we could come and go as we pleased, even on the day of our departure we weren't rushed out. It was really cold so Shirley left the heating on for us. She told us to treat the hotel as home. We even met their 2 dogs who were lovely. The rooms were warm & comfortable. We were treated more like friends than guests. Thank you Colin & Shirley for a lovely weekend xxx

The family went to Blackpool for a weekend away and stayed in the Da Ville Hotel. Colin & Shirley where lovely they welcomed us from the moment we steped through the door. They made us feel at home on our stay. The breakfast's where amazing never left hungry after eating them. The sevice was quick and we where never sat waiting for anything, rooms where very clean and private and we met the two cute dogs however, with having dogs we expected dog hair but there was no dog hair anywere. Rooms where big enough and well decorated. We definitely got what we payed for, great weekend and would recommend this b&b to anyone.

If you want a good central location and you can secure one of the free parking spots this is a good base for a couple of nights.
Colin was friendly, and helpful on arrival.
We felt lucky to have been given the attic room which was a family room, for the two of us -
However, low ceiling on one side of the bed caused a bit of a problem as we are both tall.
Nice touch is the fact it had a small table and chair to sit and have tea/coffee, A fridge to use,
An iron and ironing board were also provided.
Down side is the miniscule basin In the en-suite, and we weren't aware that during out 3 night stay our room wouldn't be serviced. We made the bed, the bins weren't emptied, and we had to ask for an extra toilet roll.- something we've never come across before in all the years we've been using B&Bs in Blackpool. As previous guests have commented the usual array of ceral, juices etc at breakfast isn't on show ; but requests are met with no problem. Full English or a lighter choice.
At a reasonable price we resigned ourselves that " You get what you pay for".
Our rating would have included a Good at some points , but the option is Average or Very Good - No GOOD to choose.

Colin & Shirley could not have been more accommodating.
They welcomed us on arrival, made us feel very at home for our whole stay (of 6 nights) & there was never a morning we left hungry.
While the rooms are small, they are very clean, secure & private. The location is excellent and you can't argue with the price!!
It's a shame the "negative" comments left here on here are very pathetic excuses indeed. We met the dogs and there was not one scrap of dog hair around the place and the first thing my partner & I agreed on was "it's so clean". Highly recommend to anybody wanting a warm stay in Blackpool.

Room Tip: Simply request what you're after & I'm sure Colin and Shirley will be more than happy to...

Was abit optimistic about this hotel as it was in a good area but was also the cheapest we had found. Got to the Da ville and was pleasantly surprised it was nicely presented from the outside. Colin (the host) was very pleasant on arrival, we got a double and twin room as there were 2 other couples also staying which was a nice surprise, the room was nice and clean, coffee and tea facilities, a table and chairs, iron and ironing board, fridge and a flat screen TV, EN Suite room was a tad on the small side, and the shower head was very temperamental but other than that a nice cosy room. Breakfast was delicious no complaints, fresh coffee and juice was also served. There was only 2 private parking spaces and they were taken up but we parked up the road were it was free until 6pm, then parked on the road outside the hotel after 6pm so no money was spent. Sleeping was very uncomfortable, beds were awful as the springs just dug in our backs which was a shame, but 2nd night we asked for a duvet and used that to go under us. All and all this is a lovely small run hotel which is in great reach of the promenade with lovely hosts, and great for your moneys worth!! x
