We stayed at The Viking hotel on the weekend of July 29th 2011. Myself, husband and two friends booked a Seaview room and what a view it was. We parked on the front carpark and there is a carpark at the side too but you must tell reception and they will give you a sticker to prove your staying there.
Our room was number 120 and it looked like it had been refurbished. Immaculate and beautiful white cotton covers on the bed. Bathroom spotless too. Could not fault at all.
We booked DBB and the food was delicious, plenty of choices for starter, main and dessert. Our waiter AREK was lovely and tended to our every need. Breakfast was buffet style and everything you could think of, no faults there too.

Now the entertainment, all I can say is "WOW" I have never stayed in a hotel in Blackpool with such High class entertainment. From the compare Buddy Lee to the dancing girls Sweet Sensation. Comedians, singers and dancers were excellent. And even better there are no children allowed so comedians can be a bit blue, but not offensive.

All in all from start to finish "The Viking" is on top of my list every time I visit Blackpool. Worth every penny.

Room Tip: Book a seaview !!

Service from the reception and waiting staff excellent. The room was as requested, suitable for our needs and ideally located within the hotel (easy access to the restaurant and lift). TOTC was enjoyable but sometimes a little too loud. Hotel location was easy to get to and close enough to get to the centre of the town. The food was excellent with plenty of choice and we do not feel there are any negative aspects to our visit. We have been before and will definitely visit again.

we have stayed here before many years ago in the 1990's and i dont think it has changed much at all. ensuite room was small as was the bathroom, but ok for a weekend stay. decor tired in places, dining room bright with sea view. all the staff very friendly, efficient and helpful. food was good, plenty of choice. nice buffet style cooked breakfast & cereals, porridge also available. the talk of the coast shows were very good, efficient bar service and reasonable price drinks. the totc lounge is dated but all in all we enjoyed our stay and would go back. free wifi is available in the lounge. my tip would be: arrive early and secure a hotel parking space, spaces are limited.

Just returned today from a weekend at the Viking Hotel Blackpool. I can describe the weekend in one word, 'FANTASTIC'... Trust me, I have stayed in many hotels in Blackpool over the years, the Viking is head and shoulders above the rest. I stayed with my wife and in-laws and all 4 of us agree it was truly one of the best weekends we have ever had. We booked 2 sea view rooms and both were clean, tidy and had everything you'd need for the weekend. We were on a BBD basis and the food in the restaurant is as good as you'll get anywhere, good taste, choice, presentation, atmosphere, service, I couldn't fault anything. The breakfast being self service is spot on and just what you need to start your day. With the exception of some of the reception staff (who need to smile and improve their customer service), all staff we encountered were extremely polite and courteous at all times and were more than willing to help with all our needs. We all enjoyed both nights in the 'Talk of the coast' the show is entertaining and very very funny with Buddy Lee, he'll have you in stitches with his interaction with the audience... We'll definitely be returning soon. Thanks Viking
