My wife and I stayed here recently and enjoyed our stay. Unlike most seafront hotels in Blackpool we got a parking space and one that did not need cars moved around to let others in and out.
Check in was fast and efficient, the girl receptionist taking time to explain everything and reserve our seats for the evening entertainment. I liked this as it meant we did not have to sit through bingo or sit for ages before the entertainment stared just to make sure we got a seat. The entertainment itself was very good.
We were half board and both the breakfasts and evening meals were good and alcohol prices were reasonable.
Overall a good value for money break and I will certainly consider a return.

We paid £79.50 per night for Room Breakfast & Evening Meal .The room was clean and tidy the bathroom was a little tired. The Breakfast was of very superior quality all you can eat .The evening meal included help your self starters which could be a full meal if you wanted,The Main meal was chosen from 5 dishes on the menu and served by a pleasant waitress again of very high quality. The puddings were self service as many as you could eat and very tasty. The price we paid would have been acceptable for just B&B the evening meal was easily worth more than £20 per person.

Room tip: 3 or 5 day Tram ticket is very good value

Myself and father went there for the weekend On arriving the reception desk were very helpful and informative. General appearance it looks a bit tired and dated. Maybe the management prefers that overall appearance but it could do with moving with the times. The security system for the front doors is a good set up with your own personal fob to enter the building. The hotel is a bit of a maze and I found a number of people wandering around totally lost going up and down stairs and at their age you could see they were getting frustrated. Maybe some sort of sign either side of the reception desk would be a good way forward. As even we got lost due to the way the hotel rooms seem to be split to either side of the reception area. The bedroom all though a bit dated. Were very clean and tidy the beds if you like a very soft springy mattress you will be over the moon. :0) my father lay quickly on his the first time and bounced back up :0) his face was a picture. So if you have a bad back maybe give the hotel a ring before booking and see if they can provide a harder mattress. I did mean to ask, but forgot as I have a bad back, but with only staying there two nights there was no point changing even if it were possible. The meals were very nice, good variety and nicely presented. The restaurant staff were fantastic and could not be helpful enough. Constantly topping up the buffet trays. The floor in the restaurant could do with being strengthened as it is seriously bouncy!!! So consequently when some one walked past you would shake when eating your meal. But all in all with regards to the breakfast and evening meals they were really enjoyable. The entertainment in the evening was fantastic. We were going to go into Blackpool on the second night but the entertainment was so good we stayed. The resident comedian was very funny and the dancers were excellent along with the singers. You thoroughly got your money’s worth with the entertainment. Prices of the drinks were a bit steep but then captured audience!!! Checking out was very straight forward and again staff could not help you enough. In all it was not such a bad weekend. Not been to Blackpool for the best part of 40 odd years. But would go back again lots too see but would try another hotel next time. Best thing about the hotel was there were no children!!! Bonus !!! Thank you very much too all the staff at the hotel for making the weekend as nice as possible.

I have been going to The Viking for the last 7 years to the all inclusive in February and you honestly can’t beat it but both me and my wife came here on Sunday just for one night and the food in the restaurant for the evening meal was cold when served which we have never found to be the fault ever before and on looking closely the rooms really are in need of an upgrade as they are getting worn and tired now, other than this I can not fault the hotel as the staff are absolutely fantastic and make you feel so welcome year after year

Having been here from June 17th to June 22nd the stairs and change in levels every where have left me exhausted the corridors are like a maze getting lost all the time a simple layout map would be handy. In the dining hall we were sat under the air con my food was cold instantly so we asked to be moved to another table but when we got there in the evening it was under another air con and the couple on the next table said that the people before us had asked to be moved as it was too cold makes one think do they really care the whole place needs lifts they should not use it until they get them as it is far too much for older people and most people there are older.

Room tip: try to get lower floors
