After buying a 2 night stay on KGB Deals we stayed at the Melville Hotel for the first time and what a surprise! It is clean, the staff were very pleasant, and the breakfast is outstanding and plentiful. Yes the rooms are small but that is all you need really. For value and quality for the prices you could not do better. We will definitely recommend The Melville and are already planning our next visit. Thanks to Carol and all the staff.

Bought a GoGroupie 2 night B & B voucher deal which we used last week. We were given room 23 which although small had a very comfortable bed. The room was at the end of a corridor on the 2nd floor which made it fairly quiet. You will always get noisy guests in any hotel and should expect suchlike. The breakfast was plentiful but the hotel could have done with a 2nd waiter/waitress on duty as you had to catch the poor guy to ask for a pot of tea whilst the cooked breakfast was kind of buffet self service style. He was very polite though as were all of the hotel staff. Wouldn't pay normal hotel prices to stay here but on a voucher deal it was probably worth it. There is no car parking around the hotel but they do offer a secure lock up garage for £10 per night which we used. One of the staff drive a few streets away with you to the garage, guide you in and walk back with you and then do the reverse when you are ready to go. Expensive if staying here for any length of time but for 2 nights it wasn't a fortune and we knew the car was safe. Blackpool though, for the beginning of June, was deserted which was actually quite sad to see. BE AWARE of the seagulls messing on your car, ours got covered in the 20 minutes it took to check in and go check out our room. Tom on reception was extremely polite and very helpful, nothing too much trouble for him.

Spent a weekend booked though travel bird arrived and they didn't have any info about us comin , but nit a worry we were given a room no 23 not as noisy as others make out , rooms are what ya pay for , having asked the company I hooked with for a special request ( which wasn't noted due to the hotel not being told we were comin) mentioned it to Helen the duty manager in reception who then said she was so sorry and the next night gave us the honeymoon suite at no extra charge this made our day the staff we great hotel was good too don't know what people moan at Melville ya do a grand job xxx

Room Tip: Any room no 17 honeymoon suite

Stayed 2 nights rooms small but clean. Bathroom also small. The floors creek and corridors small also so can be kept awake with people coming all hours of the night. Situated right by town only 1 minute walk. Staff brilliant and polite . Breakfast ample served in basement. Hotel parking none so be prepared to pay around 15 pounds for 2 days. Nothing special just okay.

We booked his hotel via Wowcher and it was a good deal at £59 for two peple 2 nights including breakfast. We werent expecting the Ritz at that price but I have to say although all the public area's were lovely our room (room 20) was possibly the smallest double room I have ever seen. The wardrobe space was a single one and if we had gone for a week there definitely wouldnt have been enough space for our clothes. The carpet was dirty in places and there were stains on the wall. The bathroom door looked like someone had punched it. There was only 1 teaspoon and 1 hand towel for the two of us and it didnt look as if the teaspoon had been cleaned after we used it the first morning.Cant comment on any of the other rooms so perhaps this was just the 'odd one out'. The bed linen was clean and the staff were very pleasant. Cant comment on the bar as we didnt use it but the breakfast was good. It is in a very good position for all the attractions but dont think we would stay there again.

I recently stayed in this hotel for 4 nights with a coach trip. First impressions were that it was a pretty standard low budget hotel, and that was confirmed once we got to our room, but it was ok, you get what you pay for after all. Breakfast was definitely ok, dinner, as a vegetarian, sadly not so good, but the staff did try very hard to find me something, ( the menu is extremely limited, vegetarian or not!) The staff are what make this hotel, you will struggle to find a more helpful, cheerful bunch of people, nothing is too much trouble, and it is because of them that my first impressions have been proved wrong, and I may well return to the Melville one day! The location is excellent, 2 minutes to the shops, the Tower, and a stroll along the promenade to the pleasure beach.

Room Tip: Most rooms appear to be pretty basic, may be noisy during high season due to location.
