just stayed 4 a weekend, very dissapointing, on arrival and going into room was discusted that toilg tv at et had not been flushed since last guests, sink and shower were filthy , room had not been vacumed, evening meal wasat 5pm but advertised 4 6pm in dining room , some guests were refused meal 4 being late, food was good but service was very slow and very disorganised, and sereral guests asked 4 extra potatoes on 1 occasion and was simply told no, over all the stay was not good in hotel , was kept awake by nite staff watchin tv at 4am very loudly , and was cold in rooms. would not stay here ever again and would not recomend 2 anyone, also advertised that it has been refurbished , we seen no evidence of this, also advertise tea , coffee in rooms and every room having hair dryers this is not true, we had 2 tea sachets and coffee saches on arrival then told we had 2 purchase aany more, not very hospitable of them , and false avertising. , if anyone wants 2 stay there only do so if u dont mind filthy bathrooms cold rooms and being kept awake by nite staff .
blackpool is great 4 famiy and couples but beware off false advertising of this hotel, if u do have a stay already booked there please be aware, blackpool great and have been going on a trip 4 last 14 years and this is worst one ever simply because of the hotel .

Just returned after the weekend. Stayed in a twin room which was clean and comfortable. Don't stay here if you want 5 star luxury but DO stay if you want 5 star hospitality. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Andy the manager is very helpfull and funny and friendly. Rose and Nathan who work the bar and the reception areas are both welcoming and friendly. They will go that extra mile to make sure you are happy with you're stay. Would definately recommend, it is close to the pubs / shops/ tower / winter gardens and a stroll from the illuminations. The food is ok for what you pay.

Room Tip: The twin room downstairs 114 is very nice and plenty of room. However it is not allways available as it can be used for less able people.

calypso hotel ,great location ,and good value for money ,
room large ,clean ,beds comfortable
warm welcome from Andy and staff
only down side would have liked a little more flexibility with evening meal time ,but most hotels around are doing same, dinner at 5pm
would definitely go back
thanks for a great break and lots of laughs

From the 3 hotels I had stayed in this week this is my favourite, location was spot on and the owner very nice and chatty, this will be my other Home when visiting Blackpool again. Will be bringing family to stay at this hotel.

Calypso hotel was one off the friendliest I've been in . The staff were all terrific, big shout out to Andy the manager who has a great way with all the guests and made us all feel so welcome .the only down side is no lift so lots of stairs to haul your luggage up and not ideal for anyone with mobility issues .
