“fantastic breakfast!”
Reviewed 2 November 2011

The hotel was very nice, the rooms were a little small but very clean and the service was fab.
The bar/lounge was ideal for a few bevvies in the evening and the staff were lovely, with one exception!!.( sat/sun night woman didnt seem to like her job very much!! ) We were on the 3rd floor but the lift was a god send, beautiful sea views.
Now you will notice that most of the reviews praise the breakfast! Well we can second that, the breakfast was gorgeous, the staff went out of thier way to cater for our needs. The lady that served us was lovely.
Charles, the owner was a true gent and made our stay enjoyable.

Room Tip: the family rooms are a little small ( double and bunk beds) It was ok for me and husband and baby, b...

First impressions were excellent. The lovely owner Charles met us as we arrived, introduced himself and his staff and we were all on first name terms. We booked for bed & breakfast and were not disappointed with either. The room had everything we required. An en-suite, kettle for tea/coffee, all which were supplied but most of all it was spotless. They even had a hairdryer in the room just incase. The breakfasts were 10 out of 10 and the staff were so helpful and kind. The rooms were cleaned and tidied everyday and all sachets of tea/milk/coffee etc were topped up by them. You could book each morning for your evening meal as each morning the new menu was waiting for you should you wish to dine in. There was a mixture of mature couples, young families with babies, and families with teenagers, young couples and all were catered for with no problems whatsoever. We were a stones throw from the pleasurebeach and right outside the hotel were the tram & bus stops. We would not hesitate to book here again. Thank you Charles, Sheila & Staff. x

Room Tip: We had room 105 with a seaview. It was on the 1st floor and virtually no noise from traffic.

Our family, 10 in total, stayed at the Colwyn Hotel, Blackpool in October 2011. Our three rooms all had excellent sea views, large comfortable beds, plentiful tea and coffee making facilities and a working TV.
Breakfasts were well cooked and plentiful with lots of choice of various cereals and juices.
Dinners were also excellent, all food was home made by the owner's wife.
Staff were very friendly, with one exception.
The lounge/bar was roomy and served a variety of drinks.
Overall, a very clean and comfortable hotel and excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Try a corner room with sea views on two sides

we have stayed in a few hotels down in the south end of blackpool and this one is by far the best . we had a party of 9 plus 1 six week old baby girl and nothing was too much trouble for anybody during our stay . the breakfasts were great and set us up for the day and if you get chance definitely have the evening meal , all home cooked , beautiful !! great location for the pleasure beach and a nice ( if not tiring ) walk towards the tower and shops etc. rooms were clean and tidy and if there was a slight negative the bathrooms were a little on the small side but it was only for a few nights so no real complaint . would definitely go back again . thanks to charles and his staff .

Room Tip: choose a sea view room , there are plenty and it makes a big difference .

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights(midweek) and found it very nice,The location is good and there is parking at the front.

Breakfast was great and served piping hot,Charles and Ruby are a very hardworking couple who's main interest is looking after their guests. We still had the old style TV in the bedroom but Charles said that flat screens were coming soon.

We visit Blackpool quite alot and would book this place again and finally I am a registered blind traveller and was treated with dignity and felt safe in this hotel.
